Do you think this family is playing the white privilege card?

The families of 2 California boys convicted of STABBING to death an Italian Cop in Italy in a botched drug deal have SLAMMED their LIFE SENTENCES given to them and said their boys are not MAFIA BOSSES who wantonly kill innocent people as they are GOOD BOYS!!

A spokesman for 21 y/o Finnegan Lee Elder and 20 y/o Gabriel Natale-Hjorth say it "made no sense" to claim they are on the "same level as cold blood killers" by slapping them with the harshest possible sentence of life!!

They now vowed to appeal their sentences and called the verdict a "shame on italy" and mockery of justice" to say these boys are evil.

The boys were found guilty of STABBING Italian Police Officer, Vice Brigadier 35 y/o Mario Cerciello Rega where Elder stabbed him 11 times with a seven inch RAMBO KNIFE and Natale later helped him hide it

They claimed innocence stating the undercover cop and his colleague jumped them from behind and thought they were thugs to attack them by a drug dealer over a fake cocaine deal.

But the jury deliberated for 12 hours and found them guilty with the stiffest sentence

The boys became friends back in high school in California at Tamalpais High School

Their american lawyer slammed the sentences for comparing them to "mafia bosses of italy" and said "How could these 2 boys possibly be in the same league? So from a reasoned standpoint, the verdict didn't make any sense to hold them guilty on every single charge. And from a compassion standpoint, it made no sense to put them on the same level as cold blooded killers. This sentence represents a shame for Italy with judges who do not want what emerged during investigation and the trial. I have never seen such an unworthy thing, We will appeal"

The boys sobbed UNCONTROLLABLY after hearing the sentence as an appeal is underway as a life sentence is 20 years

What do you think the penalty should be for stabbing a cop 11 times mostly in his back with an illegally held combat knive.

A medal perhaps? /s

If I did something stupid like this, my parents would condemn me all day long. They know I know better. They wouldn't defend me if I were a murderous drug addict.

Wait a "life sentence" in Italy is only 20 years? Well nvm mind then. I was going to say I didn't agree with a life sentence but they should get at least 10-20 years, but if their sentence is only 20 years anyway then the only thing really left to say is:

Fair, next.

"instinctively" As in carrying an illegal knife is innocent.

The police officer said he and Rega identified themselves on the night. But the US students say they saw no evidence they were police.
"

saw no evidence they were police totally is the same as did not identify themselves as police

In summary I disagree with tc that family is playing white privilege card. This is entirely a misunderstanding of white privilege. Playing the white privilege card takes the cooperation of people in power. It is a total misunderstanding of power to think that this family has power.

I agree that the white privilege card is being played.

Amanda Knox was innocent. Italy's police force and judicial system are incredibly corrupt and they painted her as the fall-girl for that whole thing to cover up their incompetence.

It was some guy from the Ivory Cost who killed the woman.

ah yes, the one who was committing satanic rituals? apparently that area had a huge number of satanic rituals, the head cop there had a hard-on for the very idea. so much so that the cops let a much more likely suspect, the one with actual DNA evidence tying him to the crime, walk free all because he was also a police informant?

italian police and their judicial system is crap.
