They want to warp reality to match their philosophy, even though it doesn't work in all cases. Like this for example. Technically dogs evolved to become omnivores, but the amount of crude protein requirements they need (ESPECIALLY young growing puppies which are used to nursing milk) is going to be ridiculously hard to get from an all plant-based diet.
