If you are not a big fan of super hero comic books, the series is definitely more or less a super hero comic book type series. Never goes above that, but the fight scenes are amazing and they actually give a lot of people time to shine as opposed to Naruto which writes out nearly everyone not named Naruto or Sasuke.

The focus on side characters is honestly incredible. And the fights are great. It is 100% a love letter to comics.

Yeah I don't like comics at all and feel similarly. MHA has some good high moments likes Stain, All Might vs All for One, everything involving best villain Overhaul, and I have a softspot for Gentle Criminal.

But the rest I just find boring.

Tropical-Rouge Precure finally reached the glorious moment of Laura transforming into Cure La Mer, and it definitely lived up to the hype and buildup. I loved how she still radiated so much "queen bitch" energy even during the whole transformation and battle. It was so perfectly Laura.

I'm not familiar with the Xenoglossia version of her, but in regards to the general Idolmaster franchise, you have a good eye for things there.

Read Black Lion, it was pretty good. Like a more actiony Path of Ryu.

Yeah the Xenoglossia ones generally look the worst. The original designs are kind of alright but the modern ones are the best looking. Iori's modern incarnation is easily the cutest, same with Yayoi.

Still need to watch those (relatively) new movies. Might even rewatch Vivid Strike since I watched that before I ever got into the Nanoha series.

I see. The original Nanoha TV series is... odd. Hell yeah. Reflection/Detonation are awesome movies with tons of action. They take place after A's, but form an alternate continuity from the one that leads into StrikerS. Essentially, StrikerS is the sequel to the TV version of A's, while Reflection/Detonation are the sequel to the movie version.

Sometimes I think this franchise is too complicated for its own good...

Yeah, its definitely been odd but I dig it. I like how there is more focus on Nanoha's friends and family. Also more Fate is always good. And not to mention I'm a fan of the art style you often saw in early 2000s anime thats present in Nanoha. I'll be sure to add the movies to my to watch list.

Watched the Demon Slayer movie since it's on Funimation now. Overall it was just alright. Flame guy was cool and so were his fights but that was about it. I actually got spoiled on his death way before I watched it so some of the impact was probably lost.Weird out of place comedy moments but I guess that's to be expected especially with anything Zenitsu related. Kind of expected something a little better however due to how much sheer hype it generated and how much money it made, I guess.

This second season of Magia Record starts July 31 (a few weeks later than most other shows) and a third and final season has been announced for later on in 2021. I guess they figured that 13 episodes wasn't enough to tell the remainder of the story and are going for something like 16-20 episodes split into two batches. At least that means the story probably won't be too rushed, and that's a good thing.

After all these years of waiting, someone finally subbed the final Sakura Wars episodes, the 6 part New York OVAs. Watching them gave me such strong feelings. It was Sakura Wars, So Long my Love on the Wii that got me into the series and these OVAs take place after the events of the game. I poured so much time into that game, getting every ending. This was back in high school so it felt pretty nostalgic to see the old cast again, along with the music tracks, side characters I was familiar with, and best girl Anri. The OVAs adapted the Egypt and Tutankhamen story that was originally planned to be in the game but was scrapped due to time constraints, so it was nice to see it finally see the light of day. Lol at the yaoi ship teasing between Shinjiro and Tutankhamen. Also Shinjiro's mom is more terrifying than the demons.

Damn, now I have a desire to bust out the Wii and replay Sakura Wars.

Also, Earth Warriors was always great.

What do you mean by that? Like are they going to animate all of part 1? Looks like it because I see a clip of a house getting obliterated in the snow and that's a flashback during the "snowball fight" which is basically at the end.

Or are you asking if they're gonna outsource the Animation?

Chainsaw Man has confirmed the first staff additions to the anime with the debut of its very first trailer! Tatsuki Fujimoto's original manga series brought its run in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine last year, and it was an exciting prospect for many as not only was it announced that Fujimoto would be continuing the manga series with a second part but that it was also going to be debuting its very first anime adaptation. Outside of being produced by Studio MAPPA, details for the adaptation had been scarce until just recently.

As a celebration of the studio's tenth anniversary, Studio MAPPA held a special event where they talked about some of their upcoming projects. This was headlined by the very first trailer for the new Chainsaw Man anime, and not only did we get to see our first look at what this new anime will offer but MAPPA also used the trailer to confirm the main staff for the series that includes some major anime veterans and legends.

Directing Chainsaw Man for Studio MAPPA is Ryu Nakamura (Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen Episode Director), while Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan's final season) will be writing the scripts for the series. Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) will be designing the characters and Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Devilman Crybaby) will be designing the devils themselves. Action direction will be overseen by Black Clover director Tatsuya Yoshihara, art direction will be handled by Vinland Saga's Yusuke Takeda, and Makoto Nakazono (Little Witch Academia) is serving as chief technical director.

Rounding out these staff additions will be kensuke ushio (Devilman Crybaby, A Silent Voice), who will be composing the music. There are still many details left to be confirmed for the upcoming Chainsaw Man anime such as the voice cast or release date or window information. It could be a while before we actually get to see what the full anime will look like, so there's plenty of time for more of these production details to be revealed by MAPPA in the future.

Finished up the original Nanoha series and watched Reflection. That art style jump was wew. Wild movie. And so many new best girls. Not sure when I'll watch Detonation yet.

The action is insane in those two movies, and as hard as it may be to believe, Detonation cranks it up even more.

I totally get how the art style differences between the TV continuity and the movie continuity could be a bit jarring, especially if you watch them so close together. I had finished the whole TV continuity a while before I ever touched any the movies, so the transition was less jarring for me.
