I only played Revelations 1 on the 3ds but it felt fine

I'm playing 2 Remake for the first time. I cleared Leon A today, I'll do Claire B tomorrow! I didn't pick up 3 Remake (I don't really care for 3. I played it on GCN back in the day and didn't like it as much as 1 or 2.) But I did pick up RE7, and I'm excited to finally play that after I do everything in 2.

Also, a story beat in 2 that always confused me, but I'm sure somebody can explain, If William Birkin works for Umbrella, and is doing research for Umbrella, and expects to be made a member of the board once G is complete, why are Umbrella sending soldiers to attack him and steal his research, but other members of Umbrella are aware of this and are taking precautions to keep him safe? That whole thing never made any sense to me.

I meant compared to the other crippled games you have to play on a small screen with. It's not that hard to make that out, but ok.

Birkin was never loyal to Umbrella, and the only reason he stayed on Umbrella and didn't leave with Wesker was because he wanted to finish the G project. I don't remember exactly, but he was either planning on leaving once he was finished with G or planning on selling it, one of the 2. Umbrella caught wind of this, which is why they sent soldiers to N.E.S.T. I don't remember Umbrella soldiers trying to keep him safe, he got attacked, injected himself with the G virus to not die and exact revenge. I'm pretty sure no Umbrella soldiers tried to keep him safe, but it's been a while so I might not be remembering it right.

Well I don't know about any soldiers, but I remember at least in the original RE2, you can find a note in an Umbrella facility that says something along the lines of "When Birkin is in the building, there is a high probability he will be attacked. You need to stay on alert and keep him safe."

Dudes, RE:VIII is fucking badass as shit. I love how they made it more combat centric, even though that kind of killed the atmosphere VII had(at least for the first 2/3, the atmosphere and pacing kind of dropped when you got to the boat in VII). I really don't think they could've topped VII's atmosphere and story telling, so this was a pretty good way to go about it.(even though I'd love to be able to kick or even suplex staggered enemies)

I'm only at the part where you kill the giant lady and find out that Rose is already dead, but not really? I just hope the game stays good, and doesn't shit the bed. Also, WTF was up with Ethan being able to attach his hand back like it's nothing?

Oooh I must have missed this email in my first run. Yeah Birkin was talking to the military. Okay it makes more sense in the remake. In the original, it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But in the remake at least the whole dynamic between Birkin and Umbrella makes a lot more sense.

Did you not play 7 he did that with his hand and leg. It's something with the first aid juice

I don't remember the leg, but he knocked out when that happened with his hand and it was reattached when he woke up. I assumed the Bakers did some magic bullshit with it.

I forgot the leg only happens if Jack catches you before you go into the crawlspace right at the dinner. I didn't see it until like my fourth play through

Village is nothing like VII. Village is very much RE4 in first person form(minus the cool moves like suplex, but oh well), and I'm actually finding it too easy on standard(I struggled through VII on standard) because ammo and crafting materials are all over the place.

Beat Village it was amazing.

Does it stay good? I beat the first 2 bosses, the 2nd one being super fucking disappointing, since I actually like puppet stuff, but the "boss battle" wasn't a boss battle at all, and you spend so little time in that house compared to the castle. I just met up with Chris again in that weird hunchback dude's area. Is the rest of the game awesome like the first boss' area, or is it disappointing like the puppet master's area?
