Culprit is next.

Names in case you need them or don't want games you haven't played spoiled for you:

1-5 - Lana Skye

3-5 - Iris

5-5 - Athena Cykes

5-6 Day 1 - Orla Shipley

5-6 Day 2 - Sasha Buckler

6-5 - Dhurke Sahdmadhi

6-6 - Ellen Wyatt

Thought about including Patricia Roland from E2-5, but that trial is also kind of a joke and it's the worst part of the game, so yeah.

As much as I love the 3-5 defendant, it's gotta be 6-5.

This is actually the strongest set of defendants. Good choices. 6-6 is the weakest here and I would still take her over any of the unlikable defendants.

I think it's 6-5 or 5-5 here. Going with 6-5 just because of how strong a presence he leaves in the game.

Just out of curiosity, how would you have handled Van Zieks in these polls if you included GAA?

well he's the defendant for both episodes despite the arbitrary break so I guess I'd list him for both

So we've got culprits coming up, but I'm trying to figure out what to do with 1-4 since Yanni Yogi is technically the culprit, not von Karma, but I guess I could list both.

Or maybe I could do a poll for background cases too (although I did cheat by including IS-7 in the third case defendants).

I think it's 1-5 for me? 6-5 is close, definitely a better character but probably a worse defendant.

1-4 is technically two different trials, so both count.

I always thought this was weird, because Yanni Yogi being convicted in the first trial means that it would go on Von Karma's record as a loss, which he seemed totally fine with. And the entire plot of 1-4 is because Von Karma got salty about a single penalty in a single trial that he ended up winning anyway.

it was his insurance in the event that something went wrong because von Karma prepares for every eventuality so even if he lost the main trial he'd still get his revenge in the end

it tells you how much he hated Gregory Edgeworth that he was willing to take the L to take down his son

Yeah MvK's first loss does seem to be relatively glossed over. I've always thought that.

Anyway, I thought about Iris and Athena but Dhurke is the only answer.

Voted 6-5 without even looking at the other possibilities. Probably the single best-written character in the series.

1-5. I would go 6-5, but he's just a little too archetypal, veering into parody/pastiche at points. He's great don't get me wrong, if a bit unrealistic

6-5 easily and this is probably the only time I will ever vote for anything that isn't the original trilogy
