Rental in my range and I add up the rooms and it comes way short of the touted square footage unless you add in the shared laundry room. Is this a thing? adding shared spaces for size of rental unit?

i never heard of that. i would think apartment size is separate from shared areas including laundry room etc.

edit: if trying for a place. take a look at the inside before making a decision based on location and price.

I think some take a percentage of all shared spaces as part of the square footage of rental space per tenant.
