One of the things that I know is fundamental in a "relationship" is whether your partner is visually attractive or not, or whether you're "sexually compatible" with your partner.

But what happens to these things once you become older?

Do ya'll just stop having sex or something? Does your marriage get boring or something?

Or do ya'll simply get a divorce due to the lack of sexual compatibility?

Sexual incompatibility can be a factor in divorces. I don't think aging's a huge part of why people divorce though. I'd have to look over the statistics. I think most people wouldn't hold it against a good partner for aging.

Wouldn't your sexual compatibility disappear as you get older though? Because as you and your partner become older, you become less and less attractive...

I don't know why normally I would think a person who does this crap is trolling, but instead I just kinda feel like he can't grasp the concept.

Almost positive I'd find the woman I love beautiful when she's ancient and shriveled and more wrinkles than skin. I'm pretty sure she could lose her face in a horrific accident and it still wouldn't change my attraction. Whatever chemicals her existence release inside me blind me to whatever conventional "flaws" that tend to make regular people less attractive to us.

I mean when a guy sees a hot girl and thinks "Damn, I want to bang her." is not the same thing as a deep emotional bond with a partner.

Sure a relationship built purely on sex and physical attraction is doomed to failure down the line, but most aren't built that way. Now can sex be an important part of a relationship sure, but if it's the primary driving factor to why you are with a person that is pretty bad unless both parties are just like a FWB thing or it's a fling.

It's basically like saying "When I watch porn I only like seeing girls between ages 18-25 therefore no one could ever find a 50 year old woman attractive."

Ignoring whether it is genetic or not, the answer to both would be yes. While you might not notice someone's looks "changing" when you fall in love with them, you will notice when that love is gone.

Once you get out of your teens (or maybe early 20s, I guess) you'll be old enough to understand how relationships can revolve around more than just sex or desire for sex.

You are physically aging also, along with your mate. Both of you know you have reached and passed your physical prime and you accept that, Hell, you even laugh at that.

You have much more than physical attraction holding you together. You have a history of companionship. You have friends, family and grandkids.
You have such a deep understanding of each other they become a part of you. So close that is why some elderly folks die within days of each other. It is a bond they choose and I admire.

To be fair, part of that is because some forms of dementia wipe out the inhibitions that would normally keep residents from going wild. Then there's the fact that birth control isn't needed (thanks, menopause), so condoms are less of a priority. Nevertheless, the point that old people still get horny remains true.

Many guys start getting hotter at 40+ and even moreso at 50+. As long as they stay active that is. I've never found most young guys hot (under 30). As for women a lot could look good later too but I find they let themselves go after a certain age or motherhood.

I can see it harder getting into the gane once you are older if you cant drop your standards a bit. But if you married young and stayed together love forms and looks stop mattering as much. For some sex becomes less important and its more about having a best friend to spend out your remaining days with.
