I had one that was too big to pass, so they had to shove a laser up my peephole and implant a stent. So. Now it's going to hurt to pee for at least a week.

The irony is that this happened a couple months after I drastically cut soda and stuff out of my diet.

I think I got off lucky in that respect tbh. The doctor said most people just leave the string dangling from the penis so you can take it out yourself, but he doesn't like to do that. He told me to make a follow-up appointment where he'll applying some kind of numbing jelly and take it out himself.

Apparently I already do have another one in my right kidney, but it's really small. The one in my left kidney was around 7mm, so the chances of me passing that were extremely low.

I very much recommend the procedure where they shatter it with ultrasound. I had a 10mm in each kidney years ago. They knock you out and you pee out a bit of sand that's super gross but doesn't hurt. Your pee burns a tiny bit from it and the anesthesia kind of knocks you on your ass but it's definitely better than passing one normally.

Just to offer a counter to this. I've had the same operation with a stent placement and my stent removal didn't hurt at all. Peeing with the stent in was absolutely brutal though.

I had a KS about 2 years ago.
I drank a lot of juice and just pissed the stone out. People were like "oh its going to hurt coming out" but it didn't at all.

I could feel it as it came out, it just felt like peeing after sex.

The stone looked like a smooth stone.

Yeah if i could go back in time i would definitely not have agreed to that shit.

I passed a 2nd large stone a few years later (that was even bigger than the 1st) with mininal difficulty compared to the first. Really made me mad because the dr assured me the 1st one was too big to pass so i needed the procedure. Also made it seem like my bladder is alot smaller, i have to pee alot more frequently nowadays, and i can't hold it for nearly as long.

The 2nd hurt alot for a week or so, but by that go round i was mentally prepared and was able to mostly ignore it. And when it passed, that was the end of it. No 2 weeks of stent, no pissing blood for a month after stent removal, no lingering pain.

I even took a picture lol, but its not nice to look at

How is your citric acid intake?

They run in my family, so I eat a lot of lemons, sour candy, oranges. Limes. My teeth have taken a beating but I prefer it over kidney stones. Start taking a shot of lime juice every day.

I went to the ER for a kidney stone once. I didnt know what it was I thought my appendix burst because the pain was on the side of my stomach. I eventually peed it out after walking around target waiting for the drugs that were for the pain and to help break it up lol.

I had one a few years back and passed it after getting on some meds to help break it up. Didn't hurt at all actually passing it, but when it was making its way from the kidney to the bladder, it was really rough.

Luckily I already have a huge citric acid intake. There's also a lot of different kind of stones, but whatever the diet, citric acid breaks all of them down. I can't believe the doctor didn't tell you to start putting it into your diet >.>

Start drinking lemon water, hell get some sour candy, the real good stuff with real citric acid. Put lemons into your cooking, drink a shot of lime juice every day. Get some orange juice.

Yeah you need to start incorporating citrus into your diet. On my pop's side half of my uncles have had them, my grandfather, and then two cousins and an uncle on my mom's side. I've never had an issue and my diet is all over the place; red meat, basically everything that's a no no to preventing them.

They are. I had one a year and a half ago - probably this same one that just never passed - and I got three or four doses of morphine with zero effect. It really only stopped when they gave me fentanyl.

This time the pain just wouldn't stop, so I stayed overnight in the hospital and I was getting Percocet every few hours just to get the pain down enough to sleep. And that was considered mild pain, they were ready to give me morphine if it got worse.

It also came with a healthy shot of vomiting. That was actually my first symptom this time, even before any pain. I was just having a poo when I was suddenly grabbing the mob bucket and vomiting into it. For a good twenty minutes, I thought I had food poisoning before the pain finally kicked in. By that point, I almost welcomed the vomiting because (going by the doctor) it was kicking the stone back into my kidney for a bit and lessening the pain.
