i mean i just went to hawaii and had a great time. fully vaccinated and kept my mask in public and social distanced.

traveling is still possible (if you have been fully vaccinated), just don't be a dolt about it and be responsible.

I don't care if a dillhole doctor (or a layman) says it's "safe to vaca". Most of those doctors are placating selfish people. My mom's doctor did so when my mom tried to scapegoat my depression as the reason they're visiting. I told her to ask me before assuming my feelings.

If everyone thinks like this, we're down the shitter. My parents had a trip booked to come see me 3 weeks ago. I told them not to. I had a Christmas trip booked. I cancelled it.

At this point, anyone who wants to be vaccinated can, for the most part, get vaccinated. Everyone I know who wanted to get vaccinated did so with minimal effort... and I'm in GA

People are allowed to express how they feel about something without accused of wanting to impose it in a tyrannical way.

I think it's on people. I personally feel, even with vaccination up - traveling is not as good of a decision as not traveling. I'm not going to force people not to travel (save for my own parents). I'll judge them though!

But why? Anyone who wants to be vaccinated can get one. So if you're out in public unvaccinated at this point, that's on you. If you're vaccinated and also masked up, you're doing everything you can. Let people live their lives. It's been over a year now. It's ridiculous. I am not my brothers keeper. If we're waiting on 100% vaccination, we'll be waiting forever... especially since they're saying we will need yearly boosters now

Meh, things are different where I am. Canada's vaccination rates are a lot lower than the USA right now and we're going through some really big waves in BC.

Disney requires masks (no scarves or neck gaiters) , checks your temperature daily, limits capacity, encourages social distancing, all big restaurants require reservations, and preplanned daily park attendance.

The park's also mostly empty these days. In truth, Disneyworld has enough precautions in place that it is likely to be about as safe as any other outing, if not even more so. That doesn't account for the risks of traveling itself, though, nor anything else you end up doing while on your trip, nor the fact that unnecessary outings create unnecessary risks.

That's also still not a metric by which you are determining it to be safe to vacation.

I think the metric he's using is that he's had himself vaccinated. This is some historic vaccine that allegedly doesn't provide you much protection after you've been dosed. Makes it feel kinda pointless to get one if nothing changes

That's not really a metric, and certainly not one to use as the basis for a blanket statement about how safe it is for anyone to vacation. That's also a very questionable assumption to make, given the distrustful positions Sunny has previously stated regarding both vaccines in general and specifically the Covid vaccines.

Yes. People who think they can go on vacation just as they used to and not take caution or follow safety protocols are the problem. Plenty of people (myself and my wife) included have been smart and safe about following guidelines, wearing masks, getting vaccinated and staying away from heavily populated areas. If you can follow basic rules and have a little common sense it's not particularly dangerous to travel now.

If some people are still not comfortable travelling then that's fine. But they shouldn't be judging others who are doing what they can to keep themselves and others safe while traveling. There's a difference between safe travel and travelling like the pandemic is over.

Call it what you want but not going places you want to go because you have a slim chance of getting sick is living in fear to some degree
