Decided to play mah boi Chris. Literally died to the first zombie because I thought I could outmaneuver the slow ass shambling dead guy but I guess Chris isn't punching boulders yet. Knifing the zombie just seemed to make him get up faster. Then I died to a doggo because I wanted to see what happened if I opened the front door to the mansion and one jumped in. Not sure if you can shake them off but I got chewed on by first zombie so I was already a little injured.

God I love this lol.

If you would have tried to run past the first zombie before returning to the dining hall you would have cornered yourself since the door past it is locked until you go back into the dining hall. I beat that game a few times on both the Gamecube and the PS3. It's a great game, but classic RE combat is so lacking these days. Also don't know how pros can space so well with the knife and do hardest difficulty knife only runs, as it feels like it only pisses zombies off and makes them more aggressive.

Nope. Capcom outsourced RE3 Remake and while visuals and gunplay were improved from the original RE3, everything else got worse. It serves it's purpose as a altered modern retelling of RE3 at least, but it is incredibly disappointing to old school RE 3 fans. RE2 Remake was also a disappointment due to some story changes, and worse of all no proper B story scenario, but it still delivers for the most part and is a great game.

I played RE2 and a bit of RE3 back on the N64 and Playstation so its super nostalgic to go back to these fixed camera angles. Really loving the descriptions on everything too, less is definitely more. So many spooky paintings.

So far I've got the sword key and while I've found another key (very obviously booby trapped) I had to use some of my items to make space so now I'm heading back. Having to carefully think about what you're going to pick up is really cool but kind of annoying too.

Used up all my ink ribbons already, normally I feel confident in games like this where I don't save very often but not knowing what can mess me up around a corner is so refreshing.

So I've run into two of those crimson heads so far. I cheesed one out because he was stuck behind a little shelf and was able to knife him to death. I heard about having to burn bodies so this is really neat, wonder why they haven't really done this in later titles. Makes you think about which areas you want to guarantee safety.

Do items randomly spawn if you're playing terribly? I swear this save room wasn't full of ammo and shit last time I was here... I'm playing on the hard difficulty I think.

If its remaster then youre on normal. Chris is a poor choice for a first timer lol.

Was there a note in the room? I think your ally leaves some shit behind for you early in the game but its been forever.

Also shouldve played as Jill for the superior ladder scene

They probably didn't use the burn body mechanic again because it is rather cumbersome considering it takes up a item slot at the very least to do so and it slows the pacing of the game down even more.

At the start of the game it asked how I like my games or whatever. I just thought that was a veiled difficulty setting.

It is but the hardest available on a first playthrough is Normal, so a lot of people end up picking easy by accident.

Well I beat the Chris scenario. Overall it was pretty fun, but almost all the tension was lost when I got the assault shotgun, like damn I felt invincible. I also hoarded most of the magnum rounds so the final fights were a joke.

If I read ahead of time that Jill got extra item space I definitely would've picked her instead. Not sure if I'll play through again right away or not.

The first run through the mansion is the hardest part of the game.

Jill's an easier playthrough as long as you don't get hit.

the assault shotgun is the exact same damage level as the normal shotgun, it just holds more ammo and looks cool lol

the game definitely gets easier as it goes though because high grade ammo becomes way more common. glad you enjoyed it and played through to the end. try again sometime, half the fun of the old RE games is remembering where everything is and blasting through them as fast as possible
