I need to lose 10 pounds so here's a topic to track my progress. nothing special here. Just going to limit night eating and only eat when I'm hungry, which worked last time.

I'm currently 6'1 190.2 lbs. I'll weigh myself again in the morning, then only weigh myself in the morning.

And good luck man. I've lost 40 lb since I started dieting. I lost the 40 lb in about 6 months and then I've been managing to maintain it for another 6 months

nice. When did you start dieting? I've been hovering between 185 to 190 this past year. All I really want is muscle definition, but I need to drop weight to see results. My ghetto home gym can only do so much

Best of luck to you.

Yeah we'll see how it goes. Thanks. The next toughest part is staying at 180. I also need to determine my body fat somehow.

I mean, so you have your diet under control and you're skinnier, building muscle will look a lot more apparent as you grow in strength. You'll immediately see noticeable difference in strength and appearance, compared to someone losing weight in my opinion.

The main thing is I want to see some definition. I've been lifting weights on and off for a while, and although I see progress with being able to life more, visually I never notice anything. My eating habits have always been the same. So I want to get at a point where I can see these results, then maybe go from there.

6'1 and 187 lbs is in the "normal" range on the BMI scale, so technically i could stop here, but I can never see any body change. No visual abs, no arm definition, etc. And I gain weight very very easily

Ah.

For me to not be considered overweight, I need to be 194. My doctor said that while BMI is a pretty good indicator, it's not perfect. I also do 100 pushups 2 days on, 1 day recovery, among other workout routines.

The pushup thing was new this year, and I definitely see a change in upper body definition which I've been happy with. Medium t-shirts are actually form fitting

BMI becomes less reliable when you're putting on muscle weight. But that's great to hear. I always loved it when the pants I used to wear feel loose now.

dpp yoga man. I recommend it to everyone. I took a break from it as all my time is spent towards studying for finals but its a miracle worker. I have to get back on to it when Intersession starts, but the most I've lost was 42 lbs in 3 months.... course I gained it all back and then some, but to be fair I was living with a guy who loved to cook in full fat/oil/butter.

are you doing much cardio?

Last summer I dropped 12 pounds in a month when I started going on daily 5 mile walks (two walks a day on weekends for 10 miles a day). Went from 179 to 167. Didnt plan to drop that much though - was too tired to cook a big meal a lot of days so Id just grab a granola bar and pass out.

No cardio, just weight lifting / body exercises and restricting how much I eat. I ate a bit more than I would like yesterday, but I think I'm fine. I do have a VR boxing game that I'm thinking of using actually, that could be where I can get some cardio from.

Nah really though, 10 pounds is easy. I think you'll be disappointed if you expect it to transform your physique, though. Unless you're already muscular

Haha yeah I did see that general. I thought making my own topic would get me more committed.

Honestly, I do want to see progress. All I really want is definition, I don't want to be crazy built like a body builder. I figure if I maintain my lifting habits while losing weight a bit I'll see some definition. I don't really care about maxing out my lifts tbh. Maybe down the line I will, but I've been lightly lifting on and off for a couple of years now and most people wouldn't even notice I lift if I ever mention it. So I'm changing things up.

The last time I got to 180 I didn't lift at all, so I was skinnier, but no muscle definition.

This is what I'm concerned about. Hopefully you do get some when you cut. I'm also hoping it's not genetics as well but we'll see when I get there.

Yeah I do, but I realize that weight flunctuates depending on how much your drank and whether you pooped. So I don't really pay close attention to day to day weight. Looking at the average per week matters more to me.
