There's no way they can't tell a guy who likes them vs a guy who doesn't, they always have guys interested to some degree so they have way more experience reading subtle clues. Either they've been down for it or they're not. Usually the former between gay guys with a spine. In any case when being up front was too blunt or fast for them, I just took that as a sign to look elsewhere. It's why so many out gay men are casually direct about sex. It's being competitive. It's the way it should be for us...we don't get pregnant. Most gay guys want a quick yes or no. If a guy tries to pull headgames, he gets passed up for other dick with less hassle. Naturally.
