Isn't the copyright situation a bit thorny in the US? Like a handful of stories are still technically under copyright for the next few years until they enter public domain and the Doyle estate has mounted legal challenges against people/films on that basis as recent as last year because "Holmes only had those personality traits in the copyrighted stories so it's infringement!"?

maybe f/go was like "try us, our gacha money is unlimited we do not fear you" but others don't want to try?

Yeah, they're probably just playing it safe. They've changed the case names too because some of them are straight up the names of Holmes stories.

It actually sounds like there's going to be a physical version for the Switch, which is kinda shocking!

...I guess I'll have to see what kind of trophies the PS4 version has or if the Switch has some sort of equivalent version of trophies like some ports do.

Not a fan of this Layton puzzle where I have to tilt my 3DS because it feels really finicky about which way it thinks I'm tilting.

Also I think my wife has decided she wants to watch Breaking Bad (which neither of us have seen) once we finish re-watching the MCU (Infinity War is next, so we're close). I'm not sure how keen on it I'll be, but it should be interesting!

It's been a while, but this is my first day off work not dedicated to running errands in a while! Good episode. It was nice to get some background on Shirase's mom and the other people involved in this expedition.

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask Chapter 6 complete!

Wow, an actual gameplay chapter! It goes a long way to explaining how Layton became an archaeologist, too. Providing some real backstory for him and humanizing him more in the process has been one of the highlights of the game so far.

Im kind conflicted on wanting to get the Nier remake. On one hand, I do love that game. On the other, I dont think its nearly as impactful on a replay and Im not sure the...game part is really that great to play.

I get motion sickness from trying to play video games in a car. This was a problem when I was younger and had more opportunities to do that. Sometimes I would do it anyways. >_>

Yeah, I have to take a break if I'm playing a game with a lot of dialogue in the car. I even got motion sick one time on a tour bus watching a movie with subtitles.

Solid show. Not as good as WandaVision, but Bucky and Sam had great chemistry together, and I enjoyed the Captain Falcon joke at the end.

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask Chapter 7 complete!

Even though the big reveal was what I expected it to be, I did enjoy the buildup to it and the backstory that led to him becoming the Masked Gentleman. However, I guess the big twist is that he's not the mastermind, but someone else has been pulling the strings this whole time!

The next chapter is undoubtedly the last. I don't think I've missed any puzzles the whole game, which is neat.

Chapter 6 was very interesting and definitely unexpected the first time through

Also the daily puzzles are pretty fun and a good thing to do while multitasking; I recommend checking them out!

Got my second COVID vaccine yesterday and sadly did not avoid the side effects.

Yeah my side effects for the first dose were pretty minimal (basically just arm soreness), but I felt pretty wiped the day after the second dose.

Yeah, chills, achy, headache. Its not the worst, but definitely going to be a lay around and do nothing day.

Started Nier Replicant yesterday

Got up to the point of getting Weiss - I'm sorry, Grimoire Weiss - who so far is pretty great. Definitely hoping the gameplay loop escapes being fetchquest --> return to Popola --> repeat ad infinitum, though...!

The first part of the game is pretty slow though, yeah. It'll get better (although the sidequests never really do!).

I thought they did a really good job of how they swapped around between the different characters telling the story as well as flipping back and forth between past and present. Made for a very effective moment at the end when Shirase finally gets to set foot on Antarctica.

AoT S4E15: what a surprise Zeke's plan is awful too. 99% sure Eren is just using him now because that is definitely not a plan he'd go for.

I decided to start 13 Sentinels. I like the graphical aesthetics so far, although I was thrown off when the characters were randomly naked inside the Sentinels.

Decided to give this one a shot since I saw it was on Prime Video. Kind of hard to judge based on this because the American version borrowed pretty heavily from it for the pilot, but we'll see how it goes.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 15 complete!

So Zeke is just this world's version of Seymour, huh. And yeah, this doesn't feel like something Eren would be down for, especially after his spiel about "freedom" to Mikasa and Armin the episode before. Unless his concept of "freedom" is "death means we can't be controlled by our Eldian blood anymore." I dunno. Something still isn't adding up here.
