Never liked it back when I played it on ps2. I liked the characters and story but going through any area, even if there weren't enemies was always such a slow slog it killed my motivation to do anything.

Anyway, playing zodiac age now. HUGE quality of life improvement. Honestly has made it go from one of my least favorite in the series to one of the best.

i was playing FFXII:TZA earlier and i got my ass handed to me by a pair of werewolves.

is it possible to set up my 2nd companion to heal automatically or do i have to do it manually all the time?

Yes, you have to set up your party's gambits. Though initially your selection is limited, you'll get more as the game progresses.

You can do something like Ally hp<x%->Cure/use potion and ally: any->Use phoenix down/Raise.

Your gambits allow you to set allies to automatically do almost anything with a given priority of importance.

I always have someone set to revive anyone who dies and to cure if anyone's hp falls below 50%

Nah...it's the auto-save feature.

It makes getting any rare items possible without losing sanity. Imagine trying to get Danjuro with the PS2 version.
