Snowed down here in Phoenix. Not even sure what they do since it's so rare. Just leave it til it melts I guess and hope everyone will not drive like maniacs.

Nope, more like turning roads, sidewalks, and parking lots into Margaritaville.

Saw 3 people stuck and a few speeders on the way home. Had a little drifting moment myself. I couldnt be happier to finally be in the house. I love the snow, but hate driving in it.

Really? Where at? We get ours out of Detroit Salt Company. What's the process like mining it out?

Yesterday Lincoln had the biggest snow storm since 1965 and Omaha the largest since 1975.

So far I've shoveled paths in the back yard so the goats and I can get between the house, their shelters, and their food & water, then shoveled a path out to the barn and another to the main gate. I'm taking a break right now, I still need to clear a path down the 1/4 mile long driveway, clear any snow accumulated around the trucks, mailbox, and trash, and clear the snow off the deck.

I wish I had a plow or snow blower.

Got to love a good plow or pusher box. You can clear a giant ass parking lot in an hour with a loader and pusher box.

Sadly, I'll be getting home and then shoveling out the drive way too.

I have a love/hate relationship with snow. I love doing stuff outside in the snow, but when it's snowing I know it's pretty possible I'm going to have to go in to work unless I've already requested the day off.

Last weekend I got to head out to a tiny ski hill with 2 of my sisters and all 6 of our combined girls. What a nice day skiing, sitting out in the snow and sun drinking, and just hanging out on the hill. God I love it.

2-1/2 hours of shoveling today, and 1,325 calories burned, according to my Galaxy Watch.

And I still haven't shoveled the deck or created paths to allow the horse & goats out of the barn.

My roommate is currently using my snow shovel to try to get her car down the driveway. I warned them to park near the road, but...

I've always wanted to try snowboarding. Idk if I'll ever get the chance. I feel like by the time I get to go, I'll be 40 and probably break an arm or something.

I used to work at a salt mine in kansas. The mine was over 1000 feet underground; it wasn't open air. You had to ride a bucket on a rope to get down into the mine.

The mine itself was miles of tunnels. we used a lot of explosives to mine, anfo specifically. there was a giant drill that would drill big holes into the mine face, and we would fill these with explosive. then we would use these large loader like machines to put the chunks of broken salt through a crusher that made it smaller. this system would eventually bring it to the buckets (the same one we used to get in and out) to haul the salt out of the mine.

These buckets dumped the salt out at the top into a conveyor system that processed the salt further; we sold different sizes of rock salt for various things. some of it got transferred to bulk storage areas, while a lot of it was bagged.

Fun fact, I'm not sure if anyone here has seen that colored de-ice salt, comes in colors such as purple, pink, orange, etc.

Anyways I invented that. I was in a meeting about marketing (I was in management at the mine at the time) and I made a sarcastic joke about making our salt colorful. They took it seriously. and here we are. It's marketed as having special additives to it in order to make it more effective at melting salt. This is marketing buzzwords and the additives do nothing.
