Anyone who thinks the majority of teenagers don't do this, or that it's somehow a bigger issue than a parent sharing them with millions of people, 100% never had a girlfriend in high school.

Should a teenager take nudes? No. Does that erase the fact that Kellyanne Conway did something far, far worse than that? Hell no. I remember hearing a story from someone years ago about how this 18yo was dating a 16yo and she sent him inappropriate pictures and he somehow wound up in court over it. The age of consent is 16 here, so they could legally have sex, but her sending him those images was against the law. I guess it makes sense in that he could in theory distribute them.

I am gonna sound like a total boomer rn, but I am so glad smartphones didn't exist when I was a kid. I am fucking dreading having to teach my kid about internet safety, etc.

16/17 old nudity should not be classified as child porn but at that point it would be very difficult and grey line area to enforce this and to an extent already is. There is already tons of underage porn out there on the internet that people view everyday but because there isnt a big difference in a 16-17 year old vs an 18 year old so unless you ID every nude ever uploaded then its impossible to do.
