How many games did Dragon Quest Heroes draw from?

I assume if we got FF Warriors we'd get like, FF16, 10, and 7? Maybe 1 as well?

DQH had 13 characters, including the two lead original characters. DQH2 had 15, 4 of which were original characters. I think you could also play as some of the characters in DQH1 that didn't return in the story mode, but I don't remember exactly how that worked.

So 10-15 characters from the entire Final Fantasy franchise would be 1 character from each game to date.

Fire Emblem had 25 (including the 2 original character twins) before DLC. But that was with shared movesets between lots of them.

Only four of them; IV, V, VI and VIII.

Heroes II also had only four games represented, removing V and adding characters from VII instead.

No way would they not include Lightning, lol.

Guaranteed are Cloud, Sephiroth, Lightning. The rest are strong chances but who knows (Noctis, Tidus), decent chances if they have a large roster (Squall, Zidane, Terra) or chyeah right maybe as the requisite joke character (Cait Sith, Mog/moogles, Quina).

I'd love some left field choices though, like the Turks.

But all of this is just some dumb guy on the internet's wishful thinking.

They don't grab characters from a bunch of different games - they pick a few games and get characters from them. That's the way they did it with FE, DQ, Zelda, etc. If we get Lightning then we get a bunch of FF13 characters, which is unlikely (unless they do an FF13 collection around the same time I guess).

FF14 could also be a possible entry, but I dunno if they'd go for that.

Sometimes they add characters that are the only representative from their original game. Fire Emblem Warriors only had Lyn from FE7 and only Celica from SoV.
