He'd be on baseball's Mt Rushmore, and that's saying a helluva lot.

Agreed. I'd say Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and you could debate about the 4th but I would say Willie Mays.

Technically only 21.
They played two All-Star games in 1959-1962 and Aaron started in both. So he's a 25x All-Star even though he "only" had 21 All-Star Seasons.

It's Willie Mays unless you want to give it to Jackie Robinson on the basis of significance.

Is Willie Mays the oldest living Hall of Famer?

I have Bonds on mine as well.

Super bonds has such ridiculous stat lines. Who cares if was enhancing.

Bonds would've been a first ballot Hall of Famer even if he never took steroids

But he's not in consideration here

I mean I think Bonds should be in

but he wouldn't be the statistical leader in home runs without them

I'm not even a baseball guy, but the sport is SO OLD that its old timers are mythical in a way that no other American athletes (short of boxing since it's just as old) seem to replicate.

I'd never disqualify Bonds, but a Mt. Rushmore has four faces

Babe
Ty Cobb
Cy Young
Ted Williams
DiMaggio
Mays
Aaron
Bonds

Some BIG names are getting omitted. That's why I said Hank Aaron's inclusion into a hypothetical Rushmore is such a huge testament to his career.

You almost have to have a Rushmore for pitchers and a Rushmore for position players

The four pitchers is a lot more of a debate, I'd wager

I think you need at least one pitcher on the Mt. Rushmore. Cy Young is the obvious choice
