Current Events > Starting Clone Wars season 4, maybe I've been too harsh.

I don't watch much of anything animated at all, the odd Pixar movie here and there but I about just wrote it off. I was watching my nephews a year ago and was trying to find something tolerable to watch with them, and I like Star Wars so I gave Rebels a shot. We watched nearly the entire first season in the first two days and it hooked me in hard. I would up finishing the series in like 10 days without them.

So I kept reading on CE that Clone Wars was really good also, so I slogged through the first two seasons and wasn't really feeling it. Again, I had to watch the nephews for a couple days and we watched through season 3, Thrawn was awesome and I liked it so much better. I'm starting season 4 right now and the first episode is fucking awesome. I kinda wonder what else I've missed out on because I haven't given animated much of a chance. It's smart also that parts of both series tie into The Mandalorian.

I'm open to other suggestions also, working from home and going back and forth helping the grandparents, I'm watching a ton of TV and am running out of options.

This has been my biggest consideration honestly, it's praised very highly on CE.

Yeah I think good DC and Marvel animated series would be cool, there's just so many. I have basically all the main streaming services, there are so many on Netflix and Disney. If there has been a good X-Men series besides the one from my childhood in the 90s I'd love to know.

Watched this recently. It's fuckin great

Though I have tried clone wars before, I wasn't able to get into it. And hearing you have to go through 4 seasons to get the good stuff doesn't inspire me to try again

Btw Mabus since you asked, Neon Genesis Evangelion is on the surface another anime about giant robots fighting giant monsters but holy hell is there more to it than that

I watch like one show a year max. I hate tv. But Evangelion had me hooked from beginning to end

I feel like it got good at the 3rd season and if the 4th maintains, its peak Star Wars. Rebels was fantastic start to finish. There are so many enjoyable characters.

I've said many times that the first 2 seasons are ass, but s3 and onward are great. It gets better through s5 imo, and s6 I remember being about a good as 5. Still haven't watched 7 though.

So what would happen if i just started watching Clone Wars at season 3? I assume that wouldn't work well

Honestly if you saw Episode 2 Clone Wars movie, I don't think seasons 1 or 2 offer a whole lot of new content and can be skipped. It basically just covers the film over a longer stretch. I think you can start on season 3 and be okay.

season 5 and 6 are peak star wars shit

Not huge on the Gungans at all, kinda wish they didn't come into this storyline. Otherwise it's been a good start to season 4.

umbara arc is one of the greatest arcs in the show, i would only place siege of mandalore above it

The final arc of Clone Wars may legitimately be my favorite bit of non-KotOR Star Wars ever.
