I have a friend from college that I met up recently. We have the same degree and make around the same amount of money, he is a good guy.
I don't remember why we got to that topic, but he was showing me some conversations he had with women on tinder/whatsapp.
It was fucking brutal, women were replying all the time, he never got ghosted, and they went out of their way to meet up with him.
One particular chat really cut deep:
"Hey, I have nothing to do today, do you want to hook up?"
"I actually have a date today, this guy is taking me out to this cool place. You could put that kind effort too, you know ? LOL You just want to get in my pants all the time"
"I bet you will have a better time with me, lol. Why don't you come over?"
"Omg, you! Now I have to cancel the date, happy? (lmao emoji). I'll be there soon, xoxo"

What is worse is that she was cute and black, exactly my type (That usually ghost and rejects me for being short and brown). This texts just reminded me of all times a girl say she couldn't meet up . No matter how much effort I put and how good I try to be, if Mr tall white guys asks her to come over, she will. That is really fucking depressing.

Its his confidence/charm. My husband used to be that way when he was single. Hes Hispanic and 58 and used to pull tons of women. He approached me with full confidence when we met and I couldnt help but be drawn by him.

Lol yes. He was 38 when he met me and ready to be a forever bachelor. He told me he never saw himself settling down and getting married before.

Weve had talks where he says he does miss the single days of just chatting up and going home with random women. The excitement and validation. But he also feels like he got to experience a lot and hes happy being committed to me.

People always want it to be one way or the other. Its a combination of both. I've seen less good looking guys pull absolute 10s and really good looking guys who couldn't say a word to girls go home crying alone. The best results come from a combination of both, make yourself as good looking as you can (work out, get a good haircut, dress well, etc) and work on your game (develop your personality, sense of humor, conversational skills etc)

People just want an excuse to fail so they can avoid the responsibility of self improvement

If you want to be absolute James bond territory yeah you'll have to have it all-looks, money, game and everything

But you don't need to be James bond to have a fulfilling dating life. Just try your best and be happy with what you have

Yes. Demeanor is a health signifier, like peacock tailfeathers. Poor posture, eye contact, handshakes, the general air of interaction, those give everyone clear signs that something's up.

The consensus they're protecting here is that discrimination based on race/appearance, etc. doesn't exist and any perceived disadvantages are just people covering for their personal failings. "Pull yourself by the bootstraps" mentality, basically.
I think it's a weird thing to argue, obviously attractive white guys have it better in our society.
