No. I always tip. The tip just varies depending on the level of service.

Only one time I can remember. We ordered a round of drinks, and when we got them 10 minutes later we ordered food. Then we didn't see the waitress for 45 minutes. No updates on our food. No asking if we wanted another round. Nothing.

Only once. There were three of us. She came by the table three times over a span of 60 minutes, and one of those times was when we were first seated... we would try to wave for her attention multiple times and would acknowledge that shed be with right with us, but would then forget to come over when she was done with the table she was at (it really wasnt that busy). We never even got our food order... we ordered drinks, then she didnt come back for 30 more minutes, when we ordered another round and put in our food order. Took another 30 minutes to get her attention again and asked what was taking so long. Turned out she forgot to give the order to the kitchen.

We said forget it, just gives us the check. We then tried to pay with 3 cards, but she fucked it up and somehow put it all on one card. We said Thats fine, well make up the difference among ourselves, but she already had a manager trying to fix her mess. It took another 10 minutes to do that, and she came back at one point and said Sorry for all of this, can we offer you a free round of drinks? When we declined because we just wanted to leave, she said Ok, but keep in mind that I offered you free drinks and you said no (we hadnt gotten the chance to sign our credit card payments yet, where you leave the tip). After she said that, we all agreed she wasnt getting a tip.

I have on two occasions from having extremely terrible service such that I actually requested to speak to a manager. One of those was on my dad's birthday and we had gone to a steakhouse. While the service in general happened to be really slow, the final nail in the coffin is that my steak was well-done and partially burned and I requested it medium. My dad was nearly done with his meal by the time my steak was remade.

No. I left a waiter a few quarters once though

I didnt realize how little money I had until after I started eating lol. I had barely enough in my account, and only had a few quarters in my wallet. I left quickly because I was too embarrassed to see their reaction lol

Once. She was actively ignoring our table. Commonly forgot stuff and would act annoyed if we reminded her. Granted, i've worked retail and i know we have bad days, but i just couldn't reward that level of disrespect.

I probably have, though whatever incident motivated me I've long since forgotten. I have a pretty low bar for tips though. Like, even if you suck at your job, if you just look like you're trying and care I'll give 15% out of pity. You'd have to be the worst of the worst for me to even think about intentionally stiffing or giving a below-average tip.>_>

yes. my 1st girlfriend hated this waitor and asked me not to tip. i obliged and did not tip, and the dude ended up chasing us out and asking us not to come back. dude was an asshole but i was kinda a loser for trying to impress my girlfriend

No, even if the service is awful everyone has their bad days and I'll leave at least 10%

I typically leave around 30% or more if they were great. My wife had to be a server as a 2nd job and she was also a full time phlebotomist and I know what a shit job it was for her and some of the shitty people she had to deal with daily.
