I was able to get out of that trap after playing and loving at least a dozen of them.

Now even the good ones I can't deal with anymore.

It should be a consensus that it's as good as FF7, okay it's cool if you don't like it since some good reviewers of FF7 didn't like the game. I sort of wish there was a more modern rep for us personally than some medieval crap.

It's nothing revolutionary but if you like that type of game, it's pretty much the best example of it. The world is freaking gorgeous (except the 3rd region), the combat is simple but flashy and can be challenging, the story is pretty effective even if I didn't really like either ending, the collectables aren't too bad to track down unless you want to get every dye (which you don't need for 100%).

this game is easy as fuck. especially once youre like 1/3rd of the way through. all the gear and upgrades you have make you overpowered as hell.

its not terrible. uncovering the map and finding new locations is cool but youve also seen literally everything the game has to offer in terms of gameplay in the first 2-3 hours

and its a 30-40 hour game

Not quite, you get some cool stuff towards the end. The hallucination darts ended up becoming my favorite weapon

My main complaint is that there's no incentive to explore everything. I pretty much had everything fully upgraded by the time I got to the second area. And there's no trophies for finding everything either.

i still dont understand the point of the blowdart. its functionally the same as the bow but with less ammo and it gives a slightly different death animation

I haven't played Ghosts of Sushi yet but I loved Sucker Punch's previous games so I'll get it eventually

I'm going by the difficulty I played on which was Hard I think but arrows need a headshot to kill but poison darts kill anywhere (and the death animation is over-the-top and amusing). Hallucination darts turn the enemies against each other which is fun to watch, especially when you use it against a big dude. They're mostly used in tandem with your other ranged options rather than just one or the other.

The lethal darts have a chance to terrify nearby enemies too.

This is true. Even on lower difficulties... I think I didn't get a headshot once on normal. And that caused problems...
