Many of the people that stormed the capitol were indeed just idiots caught up in the mob mentality. Many more, however, went there very well-armed and with documented intent to assassinate or hold hostage high-ranking political figures for the sake of getting the political outcome they wanted. IED's were found in a number of locations. This was - by every reasonable metric and piece of evidence that has been revealed during the subsequent investigation - a credible threat against the lives of those in the US government, and a genuine terrorist attack. That some parts of the mob weren't so legitimately threatening doesn't change that.

Hell it could be argued that it should have been overthrown decades ago, America has been going down a dark path for quite a while

I definitely agree, I'm not saying to burn it all down yet. I think we are still at the point where the country can be saved without burning everything down but I'm not going to pretend that storming the capitol is a bad thing regardless of context

This time it was bad because they're just sore losers that can't accept the results of the election but I have seen a lot of people acting like just the act of storming the capitol itself is some travesty

There are actually tons of sports riots in the USA. Almost yearly. Cars on fire.

bruh I read the whole article and it actually does not detail very much property damage. it details 6 injuries, someone getting smoked in the face with a chair, and a naked man with "Trump" written on his butt.

Your statement is accurate for most of them, we have stories from reporters who were following them expressing the confusion and shock some of them had once they got in, surprised at how easy it was and unsure what to do next.

That wasn't all of them however, as time has gone on we've gotten more video and information that makes it very clearly some of them had a plan and had a general idea where they were going. There were people there for the purpose of assassinating our elected politicians.
