Or is that just on TV/movies?

At lot of people use beds as furniture. As for state of dress while home, it depends on many factors.

Comfort / wrinkability of clothing
Who shares household
and so on

I can't speak for all Americans, but I don't use a bed. I sleep standing up.

I wouldn't necessarily say that I "wear outside clothes in bed" (like I would never sleep in jeans and a good shirt), but I have been known to just roll out of bed, throw on a hoodie and shoes and essentially wear my PJs or what I just slept in as undergarments.

I'm going to guess that TC is not talking about sleeping overnight, but how in TV shows people maybe come in from outside after work or after school, and then kinda jump in bed to read a book or watch TV or whatever

But I sleep naked if anyone was wondering

I sleep in underpants, socks, and a shirt, not in pajamas.

In day time, I often sit/lie on my bed and browse my computer. Just in my regular clothes.

no.

"don't you care about dirty clothes on the bed"
if the clothes are dirty (not just "i wore them today" but if they're visibly dirty) or if I'm sweaty then I would either change clothes or shower first, whatever is appropriate.
