Slippers (flip flops). Its too hot to be wearing round shoes and I don't want my floor dirty. But barefoot is a big no because all kinds of crawlers can pop up in these parts. Not least centipedes.

I hate being barefoot because I hate having my feet dirtied. I absolutely hate the feeling of dirt, dust or sand on my feet. My feet need to be protected at all times, so I always wear socks. The only time I take them off is when I'm sleeping in my bed, taking a bath or shower, or swimming. When I wake up, I put on socks before even leaving my bed, which is why I keep my clean socks right next to my bed. When I get out of the bath or shower, I avoid stepping on potentially dirty surfaces and will use my towel like a mat if necessary. Clean socks is usually the first item of clothing I put on, and I make sure to dry and clean my feet before doing so. Swimming can be annoying. If I'm swimming, I prefer to wear water socks.

I own a cat who is pretty clean and doesn't lose much hair, especially considering she lacks fur, but she does move a lot of litter in my room when she jumps out of the litterbox. I also live with dog lovers who have several annoying dogs who bark all day and urinate on the floor. I wish I lived with a clean freak, but that's unfortunately not the case. I vacuum my room every now and then, but it's so disorderly. It doesn't help that I live with a borderline hoarder and that other members of my family who don't even live here anymore use my house as a storage unit for their crap they too refuse to get rid of.

If it was just me, I wouldn't allow them, but I'm not the majority owner of the house. I only own a small percentage of it (slightly less than 25%), so no one gives a shit. And no, I'm not going to sell my share and move out. I just hate living alone, otherwise I get depressed. It's such a major problem that I'd rather have to tolerate those damn dogs than live alone again. I lived alone for a few years, not counting a cat, and it was horrible. I ate junk food and took a lot of weight. I'm much better now, even if it's far from perfect. But yes, I can't wait to move out and found a family. Dogs will be banned and the house will have a minimalist style that isn't encumbered and that is easy to clean.

I'm always barefoot. Sure this means I clean my feet more but my feet feel much better when free. Much like any other part of me.....

When it's warm enough that my feet don't get cold I will be barefoot. But if my feet are getting cold I will wear socks and a pair of indoor/outdoor slippers.
