anime zone for me

Bleach filler free rewatch oh hey let's stop all the top fights for the Zanpakuto Rebellion filler arc. At least it was a good arc, but I'll be skipping it this time because it's time for my favorite part of the series.

Weekly stuff it's One Piece, Dragon Quest Dai, Attack on Titan Final Season, Jujutsu Kaisen and Dr. Stone Season 2 which is a lot for me I rarely ever watch more than 2 or 3 at once

Just noticed the Vtuber anime is getting another season in Spring.

When the first season came out, the very idea of it was a joke.

Insane how times can change, and this may end up being one of the most watched shows of the entire year, lol.

Titan is also an enormous franchise! It's hard to pin Dr. Stone. Manga wise it only does BC numbers, which is fine but doesn't make it 'every year getting a well adapted anime' necessarily. Jump pushes it pretty hard though.

The way I see it, it's probably more of a Haikyuu situation, where they have a shorter season that focuses on one specific popular arc for marketing purposes, since otherwise the last half of the season would be pretty flat. Think of how Haikyuu season 3 would have landed as a two cour, with the first cour of season 3 being the same but the second cour being what the first cour of season 4 was, arguably the most boring section of Haikyuu?

I don't actually know Dr Stone myself, but I assume the "Stone Wars" are a definitive event?

I figured they would only cover the end of the Stone Wars anyway since the arc afterwards is so different. I wish season 1 was just longer so it could have covered the whole thing

I don't know how big vtubers can get but I do cringe every time their subreddit shows up on r/all congratulating streamers for getting XYZ amounts of subs

my money is on the big vtubers to get burnt out after streaming for a few years or demand a better contract next time they need to be renewed and hololive will fuck that up somehow and the vtuber bubble pops while Pokimane and Saddummy will still be fine because wait for it... they actually look good IRL and aren't tied to a 2dlive model that can be replaced

Alright, so the season is out and I think Ive got my current following set. Was shocked at how short this was before realizing how much of what Im watching this season are sequels.

I didn't include VladLove because it doesn't actually start until Valentines Day, and the episode we got wasn't actually final production.

From best to worst, but all still making the follow list:

Wonder Egg Priority One of the most definitive recommendations I can possibly give, period. I dont have an actual list of best first episodes of anime Ive ever seen, but if I were to put one together this would be easy top 5, if not #1. Be forewarned that it looks like it will be likely intimitely be tackling some rough stuff, expect some Silent Voice parallels as far as content warnings go.

Otherside Picnic other than some iffy pacing for a handful of scenes, completely engrossed in this and its weird subject matter. Lots of stuff tackles the Japanese folklore theme, but Im struggling to think of any that do say by way of Broms artwork.

Spidersekai This is just really fun. Yeah, the huge glowup of the creative talent behind it is a factor, but the subject matter has plenty going for it as well. I never got into Slimesekai all that much, just wasnt clicking feels like this one might.

Horimiya looks like a great cast up front, definitely the enjoyable casual comfort watch of the season for Highschool romcom. The OP has me both excited and worried about this going drama ham later on.

Kemono Jihen an intriguing if not super original premise, mainly here gore its excellent execution. I dont expect it to stick, since it has trapping of something that may go monster of the week, but at the very least the basis is strong.

Mushoku Tensei what a contradictory product. Arguably one of if not the most impressive television productions around, everything about its creation is firing on all cylinders. It is FLAWLESS in its execution, and how it practically attacks every one of your senses..too bad the plot itself is generic junk and the protag might be one of the worst out there. I cant stress enough how 1/5 this would be without the disgustingly absurd production values, but it just goes to show how impressive they are that Im still interested in continuing. Seeing all this budget and talent supporting this thing is more upsetting than anything.

Thus far all I'm watching that's new is Otherside Picnic, and it does seem worth keeping up with. I've heard a lot of praise for Egg but I'm holding off for now and will see if it continues to be highly regarded.

I watched ep1 of PNL S2 and will watch the rest when it finishes. Same for Jujutsu Kaisen.

I would like to state for the record that due to making other people watch it either over stream with me or with my roomate, I have seen the first episode of WEP 4 times now <_<

The new ED and OP are both great! Could go either way on either of them.

I decided to check out a few chapters of Horiyama, and very quickly noticed that the end of episode 2 implies a whole chaoter was skipped. It's likely just as a way to get an episode ender, but I'm spooked enough that I'm gonna go ahead and read it <_<

Still gonna watch, of course. It's a very well made show.

Actually my favorite one piece chapter in a long time. The right amount of levity in a dire situation, and like, not jumping to 5 different persectives in the same chapter does wonders for being immersed in a scene.
