At a point in the game you learn there is a massive cult all over Greece controlling things and you need to collect clues and take out the various branches. In real life you can eliminate a good fighter if you can sneak up on them. The challenge should be in the stealth aspect. Its called Assassin's Creed after all. It was just a list of assassination targets except you were supposed to just kill them in a specific order or randomly discover them on the map or use a guide to find their location.
