Since tickets are done I got Tidus Awakening and Yuna USB4. I also used the generous amount of Anima Lens from the fest to hone Orran Awakening to 15, and I beat Sin as well! (ugh this whale is fucking annoying. I hope I luck into Seymour and Braska Awakenings someday and wreck him with a mage team.)

My last draw ticket got me Onion USB3 which I was thinking about getting with lenses a few days ago so I'm glad I waited. Now that the tickets are done I grabbed Ayame's awakening/AOSB/LMR gift set and spent some time trying Dreambreaker Kam'lanaut. I got it down to 18% but with only 2 DPS characters I couldn't get it done (I have Ayame's sync and awakening, Shantotto is just with awakening and USB, and Lilisette is contributing a little damage but not much). I'm thinking maybe I should grab Curilla's awakening with coins but I'm not sure how much that would help since I'd have to remove Lilisette or Orran.

Also I still need to decide on Bartz vs Cloud sync. And are there any good G+ selections I should consider or should I just grab Orran's? (I have his sync and honed awakening, and I already have Cait Sith's G+)

Orran works better for physical parties so the glint+ is still worth it. It's been a valuable asset ever since I got it last fest. Plus you can instant cast Orran's USB for a party instant for some clutch magic pixels during chains.

I hear Curilla is basically the Warrior of Light in FF11 where does she does garbage damage because her dives were more aimed at being a tank so I wouldn't get her awakening.

I didn't think I had sufficient tech to actually get this one done, since WoL kinda sucks. Not sure the sub-30 is possible, but I'm so happy to even have a kill.

I have WoL open with his realm chain for the Hastega and a nice Faithga. He needs to cast Grace on Sarah before phase 2, so she can shrug off the Silence.
Lili does a single Wrath+Entrust to Matoya, so she can cast USB and AASB quickly.
WoL doesn't do much damage, but at least his Sync comes with 2 Overstrike hits that can break rage. Maybe he could break rage with his Sync attacks too, but I didn't bother using 6* motes on him; I probably should, might just get me the sub-30.
Matoya and Meia just do amazing damage during their AASB period.

Black Dragon hits hard and fast, but the Sarah BUSB got the job done in phase 1, if only barely. In phase 2 she gets entrusted by Lilisette, so that helps survival.

That only leaves XI as far as Dreambreakers clears are concerned. We'll see if I can get Shantotto's Sync from banner 5.

Got another Dreambreaker down! Zalera with my new Orlandeau Awakening and Agrias Sync. I even used magicite to save on rat tails!



But maaan are those status effects annoying! It'd be an easy sub 30 if I didn't have to stall for a bit to wait on Orran or Alma's soul breaks for a magic blink so I don't get sleeped, or I have to hold off Alma's sync until after the phase 3 confuse because her command 1 doesn't let me target the confused character with ultra cure. I also had to truck on with the 70% full break in phase two, but Agrias sync command 1 does so much damage that it breaks level 3 cap despite that!

4 more Dreambreakers left! 3, 8, 11 and 13. I guess I can try 8 again now that I have Squall's sync and r15 Orran Awakening to cover Selphie's suckyness.

Hell yeah, beat Azulmagia! I did use my USB selection on Lenna's USB4 and also leveled my HC to 120 because I realized I had plenty of tails, and on one run Tyro got frozen for a while at the beginning of phase 3 even though I had refreshed grace, so I figured the extra mind would help.

Bartz's earth awakening is a powerhouse, especially in realm because you get better effects with more FF5 characters. And when he has the realm artifact sword and dragonlord's armlet (and HA) he can switch damage types seemlessly. So now I'm free to take Cloud's sync, although I may try Odin and Bahamut before I make my pick.

I took Cloud's sync from the stamp selection and beat Odin. Selections left to do are G+ and the coin awakening. There's no need for def/res/mnd breaker glints against Bahamut right? It's just an Odin thing? I seem to do alright ignoring Achromatic Aegis for physical (and I already have Cait's counter) so not sure if it's worth using my pick on that for Orran.

I forgot about my last realm/elemental ticket from that 5 freebies we got. I was think about saving it for the refresh but I figured I needed some help in FF13 since that realm personally is pretty hodgepodge right now.

This guy is still a huge pain in the ass! Mostly because Selphie lacks an aoe heal chase on her awakening. Also that 78% damage reduction in phase 3 rage with those triples are so awful! I wouldn't have survived that without two casts of Orran Awakening and few lucky aoe heal chases from his LMR.

Just 3 dreambreakers left. Might have to wait until the dream selects though.

All three of those syncs are amazing so I'd basically go for the area you need more help in. If one will help you in two different fights (Dreambreaker and Odin) that's a plus. If you're still not sure, I'd probably rank them

1. Rem
2. Lightning
3. Orlandu

Orlandu's at the bottom just because there are tons of holy knights in the game so it's not that hard to fill up that team. But it's still an amazing sync.

I tried out the 7 Dragonking fight and got him into phase 3, below 30%. It seems like it should be doable. There are a lot of gimmicks but Cloud and Sephiroth are ideal for dealing with the King's Rage gimmick. I expect that'll be a lot more annoying in some realms where you probably just have to use OSBs.

Edward and OK USBs are still good with Rem. Rem can also boost her own mind 50% with her USB so an entrustbot works too.

Did you get the Awakening stamps or the 100 mythril Awakening select banner? You can get Cait Sith there, or you can wait until the Dream selects this month.

It was strictly a lack of motivation. I generally prefer realm based content over elemental one. This was actually my very first attempt at Odin.

I wanted every relic in the top half (everything down to Rydia AASB2), and only got Lenna's Sync from the top half, but the entire bottom half. I don't want fucking Minfilia, I'm loaded with better supports.

Ah well, Rem's Sync is now mine. I picked Paine's USB3 from the USB pick, but I'm unsure about the Glint+LMR selection. I know healer G+ are all the rage, but I don't feel strongly about any of the non-lensable ones I'm missing. En-element G+ are meh. Tyro's G+ could be nice for the Odin fights where I want to use him, but it's strictly worthless in realm fights. Or I could pick a non-lensable w-cast LMR (most likely CoD)

I'm surprised you like realm over elemental. Most people hate that about this game, having to keep up with powercreep in 17 (now 18 with core) diffrent teams. While elemental you can kill some birds with the same stone with characters like Edge, Emperor and Bartz, and you can use the same healer and support too.

I hit 15 mythril and I didn't do the FF3 banner first time yet so I pulled on that. I got Arc's imperil glint+ so that's neat. I got far enough in that dreambreaker with OK, CoD, Arc, Orran and Aria to get the bracer but when cap breaks ran out with OK and CoD I couldn't seal the deal. Maybe if I dream select Arc's Awakening I can finish him off.

Also tried the FF13 Dreambreaker and maaaan this one sucks! 3 70% full breaks is BS! Lots of gravity attacks too but the thing holding me back the most is the stop at the start of phase 2 lasts way too long on Tyro! Even with a realm mind artifact Tyro and grace cast on him Tryo is frozen for too long and I waste precious awakening/sync time waiting on his OSB to overwrite the full break, and to use his glint/USB1 to deal with the phase 2 sleep. Ugh why won't you release the Dark weak Wodin already Dena!?

I've been trying Bahamut a few times but I can't seem to get out of phase 2. I tried FFVII with my mage team that sub30 Ultima Weapon but those 5 seconds of damage reduction really fuck over RedXIII because he doesn't have a backup USB that helps his offense, and Vincent only has Awakening.

I tried FF4 but phase 2 also screws me over because Pecil and Edge don't really have good back up USBs to use meter. Bahamut is also a lot harder to break cap with Pecil than Zeromus was. Hmmph.

Also it's ticket day but I got a dupe Desch USB, the Dark Black Chocobo event starts tonight so remember to change your RW to a dark chain.

I know Red XII has decent USBs but they're not too helpful for this fight. I probably should also hone Cait Sith's awakening to but I don't have the anima lenses yet.

I guess I can try with a physical team but Cloud lacks his Awakening so he's prone to running out of hones. I was considering diving Rufus since I have his Awakening and getting his HA to help Sephiroth but I don't have the 6* motes to spare just for that. Or I possibly could try physical Vincent in his place since Barrett going to be imperiling fire anyway.

Elemental radiant shield is definitely better for element content than realm, but even so Earth Rave will remove two historia souls and give party IC1 which seems pretty useful. And the radiant shield still does some damage. But yeah, Cait Sith's awakening is definitely worth honing if you can afford it. He and Orran are my only fully honed awakenings.

Finally got my first Dragonking win! VII of course, I finished him with a massive Omnislash after having to use Orran's BSB at the very end to re-buff the team when my first ones expired. (I was starting with a Zack chain for the 50% attack and crit damage boost, but can't really recast it because it will cancel the realm chain).

According to the developer video we're getting Awakenings, gen 2 chains and AOSBs added to the Anima Lens shop! We're also getting a level 4 Anima Lens added to events to purchase them.

Yeah, this is great news. Tough that we still have to wait 6 months, but something to look forward to. I think they also confirmed there will be chains but I'm not sure if they said which ones. Someone on reddit said gen 2 elemental and gem 1 realm chains.

I was actually thinking I might spend on the OLD chain select for Serah's chain since I still don't have a gen 2 ice chain. But with this news I'll wait (or see if I can just beat that Odin with Laguna's chain).

I beat my first Bahamut!



A sloppy win but a win none the less! At least I can get that elemental/realm ticket when that Crush Cardia missions refresh! Also that means I don't need Cloud's Awakening (yet) when the next dream selects come.

Did T Gilg for 9 of them. Decided to move onto 550 Gilg rather than going for the remaining clears, even though there is some use left.



He wasn't too hard. Just seemed like more damage. Would have done it way earlier if I hadn't just left Auron paralyzed for the last 20s of the fight. I think FFII, FFIV, and FFVII seem doable so I may do two more for 250 more lenses. We'll see.

Approximately a week and a half after my first Odin, I'm now at 10/10.

I didn't think I had enough for magic wind and magic earth, but Cait Sith and Emperor are that damn good. I ran Eiko with both AASBs as my main healer for those two fights. She did some decent damage with D.Valefor and Brothers. Deuce, whose AASB I picked up in this fest's RoP healed through the others. The Stoneskin chase on her AASB actually allowed me to keep slots 2 and 4 alive against the anti-heal versions and the bard songs provided some much needed crits or additional buffs.

I generally had a much harder time with the physical fights. Not having an alternative to Cait's Glint+ to overwrite the buff at 75% meant my damage slowed down a lot at those points. And the lack of a Cait Sith off-healer made survival much harder.

Water-weak sucked for both physical and magic. Rikku is my only water chain, and, when it comes to imperils, she is just not in the same league as Balthier, Prompto, or Emperor.

Glad to see another person appreciate Deuce. She's the best for Wodin IMO.

I can get to the third phase of FF4 Bahamut but I can't get through the insta kill Mega Flare BS. I've been trying to handle it with Edge sync+Awakening and smoldering fire and that can hit 29999, but I keep running outta sync/awakening time on Edge during the second phase and I lose a cap break, and then I'm fucked against the Mega Flare.

I hope dream selects are soon. I might have to replace Edward with a DPS, though that will make it much harder to break cap with Pecil. Wish Rubicante's sync/HA wasn't so far away... seem like he's Edge's best friend in Japan right now (ironically)

I liked the idea of using Eiko for Odin so I tried it. I'm lacking her proshellga glint though so Cait needs to use his old USB to give it. And for some reason my party was having trouble breaking cap even though I had Cait and a gen 2 chain.

Fwiw, I didn't have Eiko's Glint+ either. I cast Haste and Shellga manually. I skipped Protectga since the only non-piercing physical is capped at 9999 and easily survivable if you pop a Fabula heal before it.

Managed FFIV dreambreaker so I was able to get the 2 scrolls this time around since I can beat Sin. I know it's said Yuna is questionable to counter full break because she doesn't heal enough and that Zeromus has relatively lower damage output, but Yuna had no problem keeping my party healed as Fusoya was just using Holyja not helping with healing but he did put up some small barriers and give us shell

Easier than Sin despite having less stuff to use. I did need to make Ninjutsu for Edge for help with rage breaking. Only had his Awakening, Limit, and Arcane but he did quite some damage without Sync.
