The 4* mote dungeon destroyed me, so I guess I cant farm them yet...!

Make sure you're playing on speed 1. Main cause I see for players failing on easier content is they've got the speed cranked too high and are giving the baddies extra actions for no reason. Like right now the soul breaks and stuff are so power creeped that new players should be whomping d140s no problem with like 2 relic draws

Wait mode also works but ideally you wanna learn how to play on speed 1 active as wait mode wastes a lot of time for damage optimization

You get plenty of waters from Record Dungeons and events will start handing them out too. You can also get some at the Fat Chocobo exchange every couple of weeks.

Are you putting Mako Might/Dr. Mogs Teaching on Yda? She should destroy the mote dungeons bosses by herself if you have her sync. Even better if you have fire using allies.

I got a disco on the daily but it was a dupe Sephiroth OSB. Darn was hoping for Mog Awakening 2/Papalymo/Alisaie Awakening miracle.

Yeah I have one of them on Yda and one on Ramza for Shout.

Do you have Onion Knight physical USB (it's shout with crit + 50%) to use over Ramza? Onion Knight can use fire abilities to help with Yda's chakra.

Nah I don't have anything for Onion Knight. Does anybody using a fire ability generate a chakra? I could easily throw fire abilities on Terra or Tyro.

You can lens OK's Physical USB and instant cast LMR.

Also it's better to focus on a single damage type (physical/magic) on teams, you don't have any fire physical attacks to go with Yda?

At speeds higher than 1 you lose a lot of time to input lag even if your reflexes are great. If you're having trouble with a battle going to 1 speed takes a lot of edge off even if waiting for atb to charge can be a bit slow at times.

The game gets a lot faster in the magicite/torment parts so speed 1 has become the standard. When you get stuff like Allegro Con Moto/Orran's Hero Ability and certain soul breaks it will reduce cast times.

Oh actually I got lots of neat stuff. A sync that gives a fire buff for everyone from Scott, Gordon's anti full break, and minwu's usb which pairs well with his sync by the looks of it.

Might have to try to get some percentage in on the emperor

I don't think so. Maybe somebody with a random crappy 5* relic.

I can currently clear almost all of the nightmare dungeons I try (unless they have a dumb gimic like no melee); 4* mote seems to just have insane defense though. Even boosting as much as a can Yda can't do more than 2-3k a hit.

So I'm actually using Haurchetfant since Mog without his Awakening 2 isn't working out and his weakness boost with full FF14 actually helps a lot in phase two (sucks I have to waste the full break counter though) I actually got lucky with dualcasts and skipped the fucking phase 2 megaflare so I can survive the attacks in phase 3, I got him under 10% but I ran out of Phase 3 turns and got instant killed. Geez... at least I know it's possible.

At least I know it's possible. I guess if worst comes to worst I can hone Alph's awakening to max so I have two uses since I duped it like 3 times.

I now have all of the nightmare dungeons done besides this stupid Havoc Skytank (and the one its blocking). Is there any cheap way to clear this while only having two semi-decent ranged attackers?

You can get Vivi's dualcast USB at the Record Laboratory and have him use Ultima under it to cheese Havoc Skytank.

Man I spent like 4 hours tonight trying to beat Bahamut and I couldn't even get to phase 3. It must have been a miracle run that one time. Fuck phase 2 man! It's the most stressful thing I've dealt with in this game. And I have to deal with with 13 more of this bastard.

Ah I actually just managed to do it with just Tyro+Terra with a faithga RW, Syldra/meteor/wrath and spamming Tyro's aoe heal/Terra's aoe fire SBs. Very annoying boss!

Hrm, I thought it was supposed to unlock magicite dungeons once I beat all of the nightmare dungeons, but nothing happened (I'm a bit worried because my game froze after I beat the last one and I had to force quit, so I'm not sure if I skipped a trigger or something).

You have to touch the orb in the middle to open the magicite dungeons if they're unlocked, or you forgot one.

There's nothing in the middle for me, but all of the lines are lit up

You should double check each one for completion. I think they added damage based rewards so if you died to them it still counts as a "win" but the magicite doesn't open unless it was killed.

Everything has "MASTER" on it as far as I can tell

I tried reclearing one (though not the same one as the last one I beat where the game crashed; I should probably try that as well) and nothing happened.

Aren't magicites locked behind a book of Trials these days? You might need more stamina, or whatever the conditions are.

Welp apparently it unlocked as soon as I managed to beat the 220 FFVIII event for some reason!

Ahh yeah in the info screen for magicite dungeons it lists book of trials IV and any 220 dungeon as requirements

What team are you using? Also you should switch Yda to a damage boosting Record materia if you haven't already.

My team is still Tyro/Yda/Snow/Terra/Ramza at the moment. I have Dr. Mog's teachings on Yda.

You should be leveling up your frequently used characters to 99 so they get Magia points. You'll also want Tyro and Orlandeau's level 99 RM asap.

You should have enough for 1 usb. You should get Deuce's Platinum Piccolo, aka an Elara clone. Her's has a healing party chase after bard/white magic ability.

Alright, I used eggs to take them from like 90 to 99 and replaced Snow with Deuce. What abilities should I be using on her? Fire magic and rallying etude, subbing fire for a single target heal if needed?

Ode to Victory (crit boosting bard) or Allegro Con Moto (increase magic cast speed for 3 turns) is what I usually use on her, or her Hero Ability when you get that.

Did you do the record dungeons yet? You can get a lot of level 2 lens there too to get stuff to help with magicite.

That's correct. Try Warrior's Hymn, instead (5* Bard). It ramps up from +10% to +50% over five casts, and it stacks with everything. Or as was mentioned above, Ode to Victory, which boosts crit rate instead but has the same ramp-up. The downside is, they wear off after only like 10 seconds, so you need to remember to refresh them every 2-3 turns.

Magical parties want Allegro con Moto, the 6* Bard ability, but you'll need 15 Bard Motes to get it.

You should get that Legend Materia if you plan to keep using Ramza. It's game changer when your haste buff is instant.

That said you can also get Duece's glint+ at the shop too, that's an instant free protect/shell/hastaga and youc an replace Ramza with a diffrent buffer that's more elemental synergized.

There should be plenty of orbs from the events, also there's going to be a black fat chocobo event this week where you famr greens to get a bunch of orbs/motes/ect.

Yeah the issue is that I'm not yet sure if I'll keep Ramza. If it was level 1 lenses I'd just go ahead and grab it, but it looks like it'd knock out half of my level 2s.

An instant cast LMR is worth it, those are like the best besides dualcasts.

Have you beaten Sealion yet? You're missing out on 6* motes if you procrastinate.

I tried again last night and got him down to like 25%. I haven't tried yet with Deuce to actually heal, though.

Surprisingly dying to Sealion counted for the daily, though!

Still keep at it, you'll get him eventually. Either through perseverance or buying stuff in the shop.

Does he have access to the weekly msisions? you can get weekly 6 star motes for dying several times a week to a magicite!

Awesome! You might have to farm him for a while till you get some more relics to move on to another magicite. Also you should get a holy team ready for tomorrow's event.
