I'm not entirely convinced that they didn't just re release the same track over and over.

I find a lot of metal redundant aside from the bands I like. That being said, a quick listen to Carcass....their songs have more variation to them than I thought they would.

For extreme, I just want to listen to Strapping Young Lad on repeat. Other 90s metal...Rust in Peace is amazing, but the only Megadeth album I enjoy. Faith No More crushed in the 90s (not as extreme), and Melvins had lots of good heavy output. I love Sleep as well. The Locust is important too...

I didn't say there isn't a lot of non-redundant metal as well! There's a lot of redundant everything lol.

Hey they're a fine band, it's just that I was listening to surgical steel today and I noticed that every fucking track sounds the same.

I'm sure they're a blast outside the show

No they started as a grindcore band and then did melo death later on. I feel you probably mean to ask if it has harsh vocals which is what most people mean when they incorrectly use the term screamo. Screamo is an actual subgenre of emo whereas harsh vocals appear in many different subgenres of metal and hardcore punk

Not sure I agree with that, their newer stuff follows a bit of a formula but I think there is quite a bit of difference in their discography. Funny to see this on this board today, I was just reminded on Facebook of seeing them 1 year ago with Power Trip. One of the last shows I went to, sadly.
