i think that's more of an issue with the entire series as a whole though

regular battles are always piss easy and bosses are always way too hard

I played a bit of DQVIII and I don't remember it being like that. it was average difficulty at first, and then when I went across the ocean or something, it was a lot harder over there. (too long ago to remember clearly though and I didn't play it much either).

i remember the first boss giving me an assload of trouble and i had to actually grind for to defeat

and

that is the extent of what i remember about that game

dragon warrior 3 has so many progress blockers you could literally play the game for 30 minutes in the same area and still not be high enough level to get further, but I think that was also because I didn't have a magician, but things were still pretty hard back then

That's just how it is. Grind on a bunch of piss easy monsters until you're strong enough to fight the boss. /shrug
