Where do we rank 3D World on the Mario scale? I've never played it and am wondering if it's worth spending $90 on a WiiU game.

i do really love 3d world, up there with my fav Marios (64, SMG2, Odyssey)

really creative uses, keeping in mind it's structured more like 2D Mario games but in 3D obstacle course stages

it's a good game for multiplayer sessions too, and the double cherry is top tier

3D World is the best 2D-ish Mario game in decades. In addition to being just a well polished platformer, the multiplayer is so fun and inclusive. Perfect for any age. Online should be really good for it.

I had basically no expectations for this thing at all but it looks great! Kaiju Bowser is ridiculously cool and the gameplay/design looks like Mario Odyssey by way of 3D World.

3D world is a top 3 Mario game for me.
A little easy but so much fun and even more fun with friends.

They beefed up the running speed in this game significantly! I think to address that exact complaint. You enter that "burst speed" mode much faster now, at least.

Really wondering how substantial this mode is, but damn it looks sooo good. Open world 3D World yes plz. I hope it's lengthy.

Hmmm, so Bowser Jr. is indeed playable co-op, and the online mode only mentions "with friends." A bit disappointing if there's no online play with randos. Looks like I'll be playing with B8!

There's no voice chat in any first party Nintendo games on Switch even for friends, is there? That's lame in a game with so much chaos and trolling potential.

there is... it's just nintendo's weird version of voice chat where you have to use the Nintendo App on a smartphone alongside your gaming session

it's supported by at least Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Party, Smash, NSO S/NES games... so I'd imagine this too?

Not exactly a game where random play makes sense anyway. Im already anticipating people getting mad that if they join another friends game, their progress wont carry over on their solo game file

Yeah, Mario Maker 2 has the worst online I've ever played, bar none. Yet Super Mario 35 is perfect. Nintendo and online are a weird mix.

Hopefully this is more like the latter. I think I only played 3D World with 4 people once and it was total chaos have fun with flipswitch blocks! 3 players is probably the sweet spot between chaos and companionship.

This reminded me to check up on those pin missions since I got the 1st set of pins, I almost was unable to get to 15 unless I went to a fucking Cold Stone Creamery until I decided to look into the BoxLunch whatever one anyway that said expired Jan 1st but it luckily gave me the completion for it. So now I think I'll be able to hit the 15 mark with the pre-order
