I'm finally doing my Dead Space no guns run that I promised I'd do like 3 years ago and then I peter'd out.

I know there's only two or three hurdles, the first "boss" not actually being one of them... there's IS a bypass

Of course, there's heavy use of STASIS for convenience... even though there is a way to melee only all the enemies (it requires using non-combo'd regular punch only which lets you stun lock, but does very little damage making it take very very long)

Dead Space 1/2 are two of my favorite horror games of all time.

I love that you need to go for severing the limbs instead of headshots.

The series is almost completely quality. Of the main games, while the original is best, later titles were still fun. With the side games, both the mobile game and Wii game were worth playing, only the mini game compilation was bad.

Ok, in Chapter 4 there's a place where you can Zero Grav jump out into space and die ... but, like, you don't just float out forever or get hit by a distant necromorph or an asteroid or anything - you literally impact the skybox and bounce off of it, it's really silly.

So did anyone out there actually try to read any of the alien phrases? There is a translation key at the beginning of I THINK Chapter 5, I just don't feel like doing it

That sounds like itd make the game really boring.

I thought about doing the whole game with just the starting gun since theres an achievement for that but still seems rather limiting

I did that when I played it the first time, it is fine. Also did so in 2. 3, I used other weapons since they changed how things worked there.

That's the easiest game to play the game. If you focus all of your upgrades on one gun you'll overpowered pretty early on, and ammo will never be an issue.

I can see one weapon getting strong to be great

Though I wanted to try each weapon evenly my first run and since I got most of the nodes i got a lot upgraded anyway.

I think I even cheated in the first game where you could do this door glitch to where you go up to the save stationg but dont pull it up and the item would respawn. I got thousands of credits this way XD

It's on hiatus until a no-clip bug can be done to skip Chapter 6.

Chapter 6 has a 2nd tentacle, which I don't know how to skip, and the boss which takes 6 or 7 shots if you use all your barrels effectively.

If one were to argue that bosses and cutscenes don't count, sadly you must shoot one of the Poison Sac Men (the one in the nutrient bay) since he cannot be hit with exploding barrels

Something weird about the plot though...

may as well mark spoilers since it's final chapter stuff :

If the goal of the hive mind is to get the marker, then why does it do everything in its power to stop you from doing so during the finale? You're helping!

Furthermore, getting the marker just causes the asteroid to fall... but that could have been the other NPC's doing, but if it wasn't... then the goal of the hive mind was to blow itself up?

Weird flex but ok?
