There had to be some lasting consequence for the events of season 2, and Aisha seems to be that.

Nah Hawk's story progression makes sense. There was none of his friends left at Cobra Kai. He was pretty much the last man standing of his friend group.

Miguel? Went to Eagle Fang.
Aisha? moved away.
Dimitri? Hawk tried to be his friend for a long time. It wasn't until Dimitri constantly attacked things he loved (Cobra Kai) and belittled him publicly that he turned on him. Even in season 2 they were teasing that they could still be friends. But he ruined it there.
Mitch? Got kicked out of Cobra Kai.
Bert? Got Kicked out of Cobra Kai.

Then look at characters that Hawk does not like. Kyler is #1 with a bullet. He hates the dude and seeing him beat his friend Miguel was enough for him to finally jump ship.

Uhh, did we watch different versions of the show or something?? After taking on the Hawk persona, he started being a complete asshole bully to Dimitri. So Dimitri finally got tired of it and started making fun of his wetting the bed to try and get back at him. Then the dude fucking BROKE HIS ARM, like wtf. And then at the end of s3 they're just instantly friends again like nothing ever happened lol. I would have never forgiven him if he broke my goddamn arm like a lunatic.

Unrelated, I heard something about there being some kind of behind the scenes drama involving Aisha and that's why she was written out? I haven't looked into it so idk if that's true.

I'm wondering what show you watched. Hawk was still his friend when Miguel won the tournament in spite of Demetri repeatedly belittling Cobra Kai and Hawk. As people were cheering on his friend at the tournament he kept moaning about how his real name is Eli. Demetri was anything but a good friend, in fact he hated watching his friend gain confidence and happiness. Despite multiple attempts to drag Hawk back down he was willing to let it go until Demetri wrote the negative review of Cobra Kai, which was one attack on Hawk too many. Demetri was a little shit that kept escalating things. The way Hawk responded was terrible, but Demetri used their friendship against him. Hell, if not for the broken arm I'd say it should be 100% on Demetri to apologize for what went on between them.

I never said anything about him being a good friend? It seems obvious to me you just really don't like Dimitri which is fine cause he's a pretty unlikable annoying character, but that doesn't make Hawk any better. They were both shitty to each other but only one of them was literally beating kids up and breaking arms and shit. Hawk is a garbage person unworthy of redemption in my eyes.

Nah outside the broken Arm which was Season 3. Dimitri is definitely more in the wrong than Hawk looking at only Season 1 and 2. Dimitri doesn't really do much in Season 3. (Specially compared to Hawk who was a huge asshole to him in S3.) But Hawk definitely wasn't the one escalating their feud. Dimitri did the bulk of that. If it wasn't for the Arm there wouldn't be that much there to hate Hawk for in terms of Dimitri. (Hawk did a lot of other scumbag shit. Attacking Robbie in the tournament injuring him so Miguel would win, flicking popcorn at random people in the movie theater, starting a lot of fights, etc.) But in terms of the Hawk/Dimitri friendship? That is almost entirely on Dimitri.
