Kind of a whatever ending for Godzilla vs Kong, although everything near the end was a mess because there's a lot of rushed shit all at once. It's also kinda garbage because there wasn't much foreshadowing for Mecha-Godzilla just going berserk, and a pretty limited explanation... and then the whole confrontation is rushed.

Oh, and it looks like while HBO Max has Skull Island and King of Monsters, it's missing the the Godzilla remake so... idk what I feel like doing. I already own Skull Island so it's not time sensitive and I can't see any point in watching KoM before the first remake. (And didn't like watching GvK before those other films.)

idk, perhaps the best moment of the film involved the humans, when Bernie complained that he didn't get to the hear of the end of the CEO's speech

Alright that was awesome

Sharp Shadow might be better for the section where you have no platforms, at least. The most annoying flying enemies (the Primal Aspids) can be killed in one charge slash, and I've gotten pretty good and anticipating them, but they can be frustrating to fight either way.

Haha I love Mark of Pride but I've heard people call it a crutch online. I'm like, I earned that shit! Mantis Lords were a tough fight (at least when I fought them)

I was gonna throw Unbreakable Heart on there to make up for the slower healing, but I realized that I'd be better off just focusing on power. If I get "in the zone" I can avoid damage well enough.

I was thinking of doing a joke build a few times just to get myself out of my head with it. Like, Spore Shroom+Defender's Crest for giant fart clouds and maybe a "pet" charm or two LOL

Eh, fuck, Laptop I'm using ran out of battery and when I restarted it I couldn't recover my browser tabs. Had a whole bunch of stuff there I'd meant to get back to. Been quite a while since this happened.

The kicker is that not even five minutes earlier I had thought about plugging it in... and if I hadn't thought I'd head out to do some stuff (and then changed my mind) it wouldn't have been an issue at all.

Broke down and purchased Returnal. House-Marque tweeted that a stability patch is coming tomorrow, which will deleted any unsaved runs you may have stopped during the rest mode pause save state, if you've not reached a save point.

Which is perfect timing because I'm spending quality time with the wife today and there are severe thunderstorms coming today and tonight making it a bad time to start a new game with limited save options once you start.

I will give my thoughts when I started over the next few days.

I dashed off a damn cliff with 1% energy and lost a run in Returnal. I'm not very use to these Souls-Boirne type games, and so far the game is really good, but I guess I just need to "Git Gud" and keep going.

I missed dialysis this morning because of a tornado and a giant thunderstorm, and I can't wait to feel like crap tomorrow night because I haven't had my blood filtering since Monday morning. I feel okay now except for being bad at video games.

That's a very personal question. I have no idea how attached you are to your current area, what relatives you have, where this other job may be located, how confident you are in getting other offers, etc.

Honestly, if you have a great offer in hand, it's probably worth moving rather than waiting on the off-chance you might find something better unless you're really attached to your current area. But I don't know all of your circumstances so it's hard to really judge, although I'm assuming you're still young and you aren't a chronic hoarder so moving is less of an issue now what it might be down the road.

I haven't had much time to sit down with Returnal until this afternoon. I cleaned the living room and I sat down after doing some stuff in Marvel Strike Force on my phone, and I was making progress. I died a few times, but I was beginning to understand the world and how the game works and.... the damn game crashed.

I'm currently taking an impromptu break from the game so I don't toss my 70 dollar controller on the floor and smah it into bits.

I'm joking. I wasn't that mad, but damn it really sucks that I was making progress and the game was like, "F*** you Wave, back to the beginning chump." I'm going to grab a snack and get back to it.

You think you're a big Spider-Man fan boy. I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. I just bought a Spider-Man watch, and drink out of a Spider-Man cup everyday. I also have a Spider-Man coffee mug, even though I don't drink coffee. It's a sweet mug though. My Gamefaqs quote is from the first Spider-Man film.

I've nearly always disliked Venom and Carnage. Just never cared for them, and the first film was passable.

I somewhat disliked the first Venom (they took something that could have been cool and turned it into a painfully generic superhero movie, while fucking up the backstory and characters), although it had some neat effects. This doesn't look like it's going to be much better, but I'm interested in seeing it for the special effects.

In fact, I might take Wave's Godzilla vs King Kong advice and apply it here. The first movie certainly had enough painfully stupid moments (like the lobster tank) to justify it.

I do love this Friendly Neighbor comparison.

I own a mint condition issue of Ultimate Spider-Man number 1. I need to get it signed by Bendis and Bagley, bit otherwise it's solid.

I have a few t-shirts, a framed wall art outside of my bathroom with Peter vs The Sinister Six, it's pretty decent. Watches, a lamp, Controller skins...etc, but it's never enough.

My favorite Spider-Man thing was my weddings cake. I got veoted on a giant Spider-Man cake, but I was allowed to have an emblem on the back of my the cake that wasn't seen in the nice wedding pictures unless you turned the cake around and there it was bright as day. I tried to convince the boss lady with some sweet words like,

"Love is temporary, Spider-Man is forever."

She didn't buy that either.

We got a strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream, With fresh strawberries between each layers. Great cake but it started to melt in the Mississippi heat after a few hours. Hot Mississippi heat and humidity plus buttercream icing equal cake soup after 5 hours. It was sn outdoor wedding in April. We were lucky it lasted that long as the heavens gave us a cool late April sunny humidity day.

Next topic needs a new name. I nominate "The New Adventures of They-Geeks" in honor of the He-Man reboot (I guess we could just do He-Geek or He-Geeks). And speaking of the He-Man reboot, new images are out

https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/masters-of-the-universe-revelation-first-look-1234971883/

Thoughts below, from pionear's topic:

Given that Kevin Smith is at the helm, I've set my expectations accordingly. In fact, I've set them so low that I'll be indifferent if/when it tanks.

The art mostly looks okay (in some cases it's very in-line with previous versions), although the butch Teela and jawa Orko both look terrible. I like that they're going with a puny Prince Adam because it gives a nicer contrast against his alter-ego.

I like that it's effectively a continuation of the original series rather than a full reboot, since we've already had a reboot (which I never watched).

Wave is apparently AWOL and this topic is on the cusp of purging. If he doesn't come back by the time the topic 500s, we'll need to make a placeholder anyway. I first noticed he was missing when I posted the news about New Jack dying in the kayfabe topic, since I knew he had some thoughts about the guy himself. Apparently he hasn't been to the site since 5/11 (so he probably wasn't secretly New Jack, in case anybody was wondering about that coincidence).

At any rate, I was going to finally watch WW so I could watch WW84... but then it starts with some Wayne stuff so I figured I might as well do it right and watch BvS first since that's where WW was introduced. As much as I (sometimes) like comic movies, there's just waaaaaay too much homework at times. I used to dream of an interconnected comic movie universe, now I grown at it.

The other problem is that their plans change at the drop of a hat. Right now it looks like there won't even be a JL2.

I watched Wonder Woman tonight. I really, really wanted to love this film -- it had a solid cast, great set design, etc -- and, up to a certain point, I did. However it really fucking fell apart in every possible way near the end. Good fucking god. That was the shits.

It basically turns to crap right around Steve's sacrifice. When they made it look like Diana couldn't hear Steve's final message, that was great... but then they revealed (or maybe even retconned because you don't see *any* of that) there was this whole conversation. And Ares's dialoguing near the end at that point was hokey as hell. And Diana going full-power looked like shit, especially compared too everything else we saw.

Granted, out of the *three* DCEU films I've seen so far (MoS, BvS, and WW), it's still the best. And it's probably better than a lot of MCU films, although that's very faint praise.

Oh, and I *almost* managed to make it all the way through the movie without reading a spoiler (which I accidentally saw while reading something else). Granted, the thing that was revealed was something I suspected all along... and was to be revealed just a little after that.

I'll probably watch WW84 tomorrow, then maybe Aquaman on Monday. These movies are too fucking long to do more than one in a day. Of course, that means I probably won't get around to JL until Thursday because I'll have AEW Dark & Elevation. Then again, I just realized that Shazam is on Hulu so I might do that instead of WW84 tomorrow. I'll have to see how I feel.

Doctor Strange always seemed like something that could work as a solo thing. I might have considered Ant-Man more of a question mark, but they wound using him almost exactly like he needed to be used (ie, comedy more than anything else).

And Ant-Man is also nice given the diversity of themes in the MCU, where it feels very different compared to the other series. However, he's the kind of character that would go over well with kids so the idea never really struck me as crazy even if he had been a far less popular hero these days. Whose turn is it to pick a topic name?

This is pretty much why we need to start doing stuff like that sooner. I think I'm the only one who even suggested any names this time around (and I think the only thing I suggested was in #484), although we went with mine for the topic before this.

I can't remember if Geekacea was your idea or not.

I liked both movies, but I would have assumed either would be too weird to actually be successful. Especially since they didn't dramatically change the costumes.
