I think I have a grasp on how to do it, I just need #0000 steel wool, or at least thats what was reccomended, to get some dirt and grime off.

My furnace shuts off and then doesn't turn itself back on until the temperature has dipped several degrees below the target, and I had this issue once before and a guy came to fix it(covered under warranty) and told me a sensor was dirty and it worked like new after until recently.

I have located it and everything, so all I need to do is get the wool and get to cleaning. Oh and I also need a 1/4th hex screwdriver for the bolt securing it into place, which I dont know if I have, but I will buy one too.

My question for anybody that knows, do I NEED to kill the power from my circuit breaker to the furnace room? I was inspecting it last night and I turned the thermostat off, the outside on/off switch(I click once to "restart" the furnace when it isn't firing properly), and the on off switch behind the furnace cover.
