My dumb ass made an innocuous (subjective lol) joke about men aging better than women (it fit the conversation, dont ask). She got mad. Made it awkward for like 5 minutes then went off to the room. Then we had a quiet argument in the room and I basically said just fucking fake it for the God damn night if you can and we can fight about this dumb shit not in front of my fucking parents. We live with them tho. And I'm super drunk btw.

I know I'm being an asshole and I already said I'm sorry and shit but God damnit I did everything I could to make this Christmas decent and completely squandered it with one joke at fucking midnight lol ugh. #blogfaqs

Usually I'd agree but I know her. We've been together for 7 years and I know this fucking shit. It was the joke. I objectively threw the best Christmas we've had in years. And we have a good and healthy relationship outside of this.

I did fuck up and when the awkward 5 minutes were up she tried to make it unawkward by awkwardly touching me and I kinda shook just to show like "wtf you doing you just made this shit weird af by overreacting" so that definitely didn't put out the fire lmao

I'll admit I'm being a passive aggressive dick too. Like I'm fully aware of what I'm doing but this all stemmed from a completely innocent joke after I did a crazy amount of shit to make this Christmas happen. And I'm just blowing off steam. Things will be okay I just need to express this shit.

She's usually not. First time she's walked out like that. We've all been having a bad few weeks though, including my family and I think things are just building up. I dunno. I would just think that at least all the effort i put in for Christmas would mean something. And I dont mean just for her, like for both her family and mine. I took the brunt of all expenses. Gave some super thoughtful gifts to everyone including her of course. And her parents who we video chatted with, who've I've done literally everything for for years, didnt even buy me a single fucking gift lmao I'm just word vomiting at this point but I just feel so unappreciated Nd I told her this in our quiet argument, and I know it was kinda unrelated to our fight so it feels more like an attack than an actual conversation. I just feel so bad in general. I think I just need to go to a therapist tbh.

She drank 1 glass of wind but stays high. Me and my dad smashed through a few bottles of wine we weren't really keeping track but definitely a lot.

Hate, and I mean absolutely HATE, to be that fucking guy by saying this but she's also on her period and its abnormally heavier than usual to the point where she was concerned she might have to make a doctors appointment to see if something's up. Also just a bunch of weird, non-covid related health issues going on with both of our families that is making this time of year very uneasy and emotional.

I'm, obviously, in no way the perfect partner but I try my best to be self aware. Sometimes to a fault it feels like. But I agree and being this way has helped me in this relationship so much more compared to my previous relationships.

Do people not get drunk on Christmas? Lol either way, it's been a rough year. Holidays are drunk times for me right now and I rarely drink now because I have no one other than my dad to drink with and I really don't want that to be our thing. Also don't want to feed into whatever undiagnosed depression or whatever I'm experiencing.

Drunk fights can be dumb and bad but as long as nothing serious happens then the both of you will likely laugh it off when sober again. Ive had many drunk fights with my then girlfriend and her parents never judged, they knew we were drunk and dumb in the moment.
