No, it's pretty widely regarded as one of the more mediocre soundtracks. It has a few standouts and then most of them are abhorrently unremarkable

Shows how much I play Pokemon then! My reaction has been that those two are the standouts and then everything else has been "These are Pokemon songs." Which isn't bad to me, but they hit me in nostalgia.

I should probably mention I played RBY and GS to completion, I got as far as I mentioned in XY in the OP, and then nothing else from the main line games. So that's pretty much the entirety of my experience now.

I'm enjoying the added challenge of a Wonderlocke though! I'm finding myself slightly disappointed that it does seem pretty easy, as other people said. Like, even with me having to level multiple Pokemon from low levels to catch up with the rest of my team, I still feel like not a lot of challenge is there until I run into a surprise Kadabra or I get completely bodied by next level Dunsparce strats.

Team Flare's theme is super dope but that's really the only music I remember from the game.

Grant is considered the hardest gym leader in the game, so I'm surprised you beat him so badly. I guess refrigerate Take Down doesn't matter when you have something with priority that does 4x damage to it.

I punched the first Pokey and it died in one hit, thankfully.

Then I punched the Tyrunt or whatever it was and it took a few hits.

So I backtracked a bit to get a few items I missed in the mountain area not too much. And then when I try going to Geosomething City or whatever, Team Flare is in the way! Fortunately my team is pretty ace now. Geodude becomes Graveler now! So here's my question:

Should I be allowed to trade Graveler back and forth to get Golem?

So I get back to Geosage and then hey guess what fuck this girl's two Lucarios sideways. One crit and killed my Pidgeotto. And almost killed Butterfree. FUCK. And it was just increasing it's attack a lot and then I had nothing that could do significant damage to it so I just used Breloom with Counter. God damnit.

Ugggh I did not want to replace a Pokey right now. Fine, I'm going to stick Togepi in there and hope Togepi gets leveled up enough to be useful. Alternatively I'm just going to wait until 30 so I can get Seaking.

NOOOOO I fought a Sigilyph and it killed my Linoone with a critical Psybeam and nothing else I have can survive this bullshit God damnit not another one why! And then it used Psybeam and killed my Graveler what is happening!? Holy shit I am on shambles right now what do I even do? Breloom had to be the one to headbutt it. What the FUCK.

I cannot even believe any of this. I have to put Beautifly and Dugtrio on my team now. My options are so fucking limited. Until Breloom hits 30. I can't handle this now.

I go and catch a Dedenne and name it FML in honor of my run. ...Wait it won't let me name it FML. Lmao Eff Em El it is! I pray for good Wonder Trade.

Togekiss is well worth it if you can level Togepi up to the rest of your team. You can get the stone it needs pretty soon, and Togetic doesn't learn anything worthwhile, so you can evolve it right away.

Got Breloom to 30. Get the fuck out of here Skitty and Togepi. It's time for Pikachu and Sealing (fuck yeah). And then I go through the moral quandary of whether or not to evolve my Pikachu because it can be good on its own and FUCK THAT WE GOT RAICHU.

Things turn around right effing now. I go to Reflection Cave and get Chingling. That name is Comeback. Trading that SOB now.

And I just got through the entirety of this cave and my entire team was like 31-33 and then after I went to the Pokecenter I pressed the power button and didn't save. I'm floored that the 3DS doesn't at least suspend the program or ask if you're sure you want to shut off the program, but it will ask if you want to shut the whole console off.

I guess I'll go back and fix my progress tomorrow. Ffs. Like my Wingull is still 22. He was 31 and evolved when I was done. So mad.

Caught up to where I was after Reflection Cave or whatever. There's an area that feels like in the future I can do something with it.

But it can be summarized as Pelipper and Dugtrio carry. Wobbafett sucks. That's it! I replaced Seaking (fuck no) with Mightyena since Pelipper kind of does all the water stuff.

Oh and I gave Dugtrio Dig. Yeeeeah. I catch another Luvdisc on the way to the big tower and call it AlmityFlat and then Wonder Trade!

Actually doing more research, level 5 is technically possible because of the Dream Radar back on the DS, but the odds of someone doing that and legitimately trading one away is next to none, lol. Plus it couldn't be shiny anyway, so yeah it's hacked.

Alright, so I'll go ahead and release the Thundurus and then re-catch a Pokey on Route 12!

I do a good job rolling through the gym and then I get to the gym leader! Miephoo or whatever gets bodied by Butterfree despite the leader using Hyper Potions. And then Machoke comes out and USES ROCK TOMB FUCK BUTTERFREE IS DEAD WHY DOES IT HAVE ROCK TOMB FUCK YOU.

Uggggh I kill the Machoke with my Pelipper and then kill the Hawlucha with Raichu. Where did the Lucarios go!? I had Dugtrio primed and ready! ...Oh she's saving it for the tower I guess. Alright.

Ffffffdd I'm going to wonder trade again to replace the hacked Pokey to see what I get. I go back to Route 12 and catch a Slowpoke and call it Dummy Thicc.

So before I go back to Route 12, I get Surf from my rival which I give to Pelipper! I release Jellicent and then catch another Tauros and called it Mike Jordan.

Oh, I should probably also mention that before I quit for the night, I talked with an NPC in the Pokecenter that mentioned if you get Pokemon from other countries, they level faster.

That seems to explain why some of them have leveled up quicker than others. I thought it was weird. Wonder Trading has been good for that at least!

There's also several different experience curves and each species falls into one, with Erratic only requiring 600,000 EXP to hit LV100 and the slowest, Fluctuating, requiring 1,640,000 to hit LV100.

There are so many weird stats and mechanics in these games I never heard of. Lol

Something refreshing I noticed too is that I haven't actually needed to use any HMs. Like I have Strength or Cut, but I don't think I've ever needed to use them to progress, which is good because I hate giving them those powers. I think I needed to use Surf that once right after I got it, but besides that it really feels like they haven't been necessary.

If I somehow get completely screwed with HM necessities, I think I'll make a rule where I can catch something specifically to progress and then release it the moment I get another Pokemon that can use it. Mostly because losing a Nuzlocke because I can't use an HM needed to progress is really lame to me.

Yeah in Gen V and VI, the HMs were mostly relegated to just finding optional side things and less required for simply progressing through the routes and caves.

Literally considering Beautifly right now because Numel will be neutral, at best. Ugggggh. No. I'll never use it again. OKAY going to grind Numel up at least. I think that's fair. Get it up to snuff with the others and then fight. Except I have no trainers to fight right now, so... it'll be slow.

So I go a grindin' by using surf and going north of the first part of that city. Water pokemon galore so not great to grind in? Also, I'm fucking done doing sky battles. This fucking asshole has a Sigilyph and I barely have my Pelipper survive it like what the fuck.

It took me a while, but I realized I'm actually in a new area, Azure Bay! Also there's a cave with nothing in it. But more importantly, I catch a Tentacool and name it Pee On It. And time to trade!

Suzie from Australia gives me... Magikarp. lmao Thanks. It's actually level 30 so I guess I could evolve it to Gyarados if I wanted it easily.

Anyway, I exhausted what I could do in Azure Bay and Numel is now 31. So let's just give it a shot I guess. My progress, next time!

A good few years back, I blacked out and so failed my own X Wonderlocke thanks to that exact trainer's Sigilyph knocking out my own Pelipper. I'm still kind of annoyed about it.

Welp, fucking Roselia killed my Mightyena. I had to gamble on making it flinch during a Bite and it didn't. He was just getting mauled by Giga Drain and he got poisoned when I switched to him because whatever was there before dropped those poison barb things. Ffs. It was either that or Numel dies. SO OH WELL I GUESS. Uggggh. Okay.

So I toss in Beautifly for a bind if I need it, even though I can't imagine it doing well since it's sooo low level compared to the others and I need to focus on leveling Numel on the trainers now. And thank God I got him high enough to evolve to a Camerupt.

So I fight the leader and everything is going well until the mother fucking Gogoat crits on the mother fucking Grass Sprout or whatever it was fuck hell damnit fuck Camerupt is gone now.

So I use Breloom to barely take him out and then have Dugtrio finish Weepinbell.

Goooooood this is too damn hard. I was just not equipped to handle this gym. I need to make a ton of changes now. Oh and Grass Knot hurts heavier Pokemon more. So Camerupt got double fucked with a crit too on that.

Uggggh I spent all that time leveling it up. I mean. I GUESS I'll go with Beautifly and Ralts. I don't really have a ton of great options now.

Thank you Camerupt. You got me through a lot of this gym. But you got bodied hard and unfairly.

Guess I'll grind somewhere now that I have fly. Maybe fish a few places to see if I can get a better Pokey.

Alright, so nothing really interesting to report. I can't fish in any previous towns so lol to that idea. Stuck with Ralts and Beautifly.

So I grind them both in the Battle Chateau until I run out of people and then I go forward with the power plant area. It was not that challenging. I was equipped rather well for it type wise though I think. I got swaggered once and Beloom almost died which would have sent me into a fit if he did, but they roared it away. The plays. I only went through one door. Aren't there more than one I can explore?

Also lol at the masked mystery people that's so dumb.

Basically, re-leveling new Pokeys is becoming the hardest part now. It takes time now to do so and it's so costly to have to restart with a new Pokemon.

Raichu can't learn anything good yet which is annoying.
