Can't imagine putting 3 anywhere but dead last.

It was shockingly overpriced for most of its lifespan, it had horrible communication early on, it got worse versions of almost every multiplatform game, the first party lineup was pretty good but it had weaker exclusives overall than the other Playstations (and it got the Wii U treatment of nearly all getting ported to later more popular platforms), they stripped a bunch of features, the controller feels bad, and backwards compatibility was locked to a very limited early run. It got better as it went along and had some good stuff, but Id comfortably put it at the bottom even though I was just being cheeky with the poll options. Not a bad system but a comfortable bottom place.

Id say 2>4>1>3 though the middle two are pretty close.

3 and 4 come from generations with the best games on by volume but due to the nature of the industry and how everything is released everywhere now, they offer less unique benefits compared with the two early consoles. PS3 had the better support from Japanese developers and mid-tier devs, PS4 the better indie support. Advantage PS3 thanks to more and better exclusives, particularly first party.

Sony's handhelds were fantastic.

I feel the PS2 library is still better than the PS3 and PS4 libraries straight up, especially the former. You have to take into account backwards compatibility too (there are barely any backwards compatible PS3s, but every PS2 had that feature).

I was inclined to put 1 last since it just can't do as much as the others but it's still got a very solid library. 4 is the best system they've made, and there are some real limits to PS2 games even if its library is unmatched.

most likely, since the experience with PS4 or Xbone didn't differ that much this gen and both were with games that had superior PC versions.

Im guessing hes adjusting for inflation, because the UK launch price was 299, which is still quite a lot more than the US price as that was when the pound was worth something.

Here are the inflation adjusted prices, USD because thats what IGNs guide has:

PS1: $507
PS2: $447
PS3: $644/$773
PS4: $445
PS5: $400/$500

So 1, 2, 4, and 5 are generally the same range, then lol PS3.

PS3 gave me one of my favorite games, Uncharted 2, and perhaps the best B8 online multiplayer experience I have ever had. It also had access to my favorite game ever played, which was originally released on...

PS1. I played the shit out of The Legend of Dragoon, the Spyro games, Twisted Metal and more. Sooo many great memories.

I had a PS4 for some time, but it didn't really get much use. Never personally owned a PS2, unfortunately.

This ranking is mainly determined by JRPGs. Really loved those PS1 JRPGs! PS2 had some good ones, but most of Square's disappointed me, unfortunately. PS3 suffers from me playing most of its best games on the Xbox 360, and not being in love with many of its exclusives.
