no, just the regular version. Im usually pretty burned out on these games after I finish the main story and never go for the DLC.

Didn't care for this one ultimately. Was able to get past the Dancer and Pontiff Sullivan or whatever his name is. They incorporate Bloodborne-like enemy aggression without Bloodborne's heal upon strike mechanics and it doesn't work. First Dark Souls is still the best for me by a wide margin.

Are you gonna be cool and do the dancer early? I've been playing through dark souls 3 again lately. After playing each souls multiple times, I think 3 has come out as my favorite. They are a bit too generous with i-frames though. If you mash roll you are invincible like 90% of the time which makes PvP a bit annoying sometimes. The boss design is real good at timing their hits to get you in that 10% where aren't invincible though. The DLC is also quite solid and has some really cool weapons like the double scythe, paired greatswords, that one beam katana thing and the crow quills. In the base game I'm also quite fond of the black knight greatsword and the swordspear.

I made it up to Lothric Castle, then decided to go do the Ariandel DLC and got stuck on the first boss there (Friede) and kind of drifted away a bit. And then PSO2 came out and I drifted completely away because if I hadn't I was going to suck at both games due to trying to use one game's dodge button in the other. And now I've gotten bored of PSO2 and should perhaps go back to DS3, but I'm embroiled in other games now. I'll get to it eventually.

It's hard for me to get into the Souls style games and I've never really played any of them farther than the intro at my cousin's house. But I've noticed we tend to like similar video games. What's the biggest appeal of the Souls style games to you?

World design and character customization are the main draws of the series for me. There are tons of cool things to find while exploring and a wide variety of different ways you can build your character. Combat has a very distinctive flow to it as well. It's designed to punish button mashing and reward careful timing, which is an interesting chance of pace from most games.

Well yeah and you get to the point where you can fight the dancer in like an hour or less. It can literally be the 2nd boss you fight although it'd be pretty ballsy to not kill vordt first for the closer bonfire.

of DS1, DS2 and bloodborne, i found BB the easiest by a lot tbh

Well minus the mechanic where you can immediately attack and regain your health back. That's a pretty huge difference.

I finished my replay of dark souls 3 yesterday. I'm surprised I got invaded so much despite the game being 4 years old. Only lost the first 2 before my build came together. People don't understand how to deal with paired greatswords.

Died once on the ancient dragon the normal way (just phased right through the head on the plunging attack) so I just killed it by hitting it's crotch for like 15 minutes instead.

I just wish you could get the cool weapons like frayed blade and paired greatswords earlier in the game although I guess you sort of can, it's just after you beat the ringed city you just smash through the rest of the game.

It is. I fired up my DKS3 file the other day just to fart around and after dying 20-30 times at the bridge area near Dragon Keep (or whatever it's called, with the 2 fire breathing dragons near the entrance towards the end of the game) I got pissed and shut it down again.

When it stops being fun, it's time to go. Dark Souls 1 is still fun. I've been playing an Astora SS-only character and that's a waaaaay better game overall.

wow I think I might actually drop this game

the difficulty just spiked so hard its not even fun anymore. Aldrich is BY FAR the hardest boss Ive faced in any of these games. Fucking trash.
