To be clear, obviously with the track record this can be worrying, but in realtiy, with batum and zeller off the books next season, we will have I think close to 40M in cap space with most of our rookies still on their scale contracts. If those young pieces continue to develop, ball is the real deal, and we use that space wisely? I'm actually not that down on this timeline.

it definitely makes the rockets worse unless by some miracle after 2 years of not playing and the injuries he suffered Wall is anything close to what he used to be

the pick Washington gave up is heavily protected. Something like lottery in '23, top 12 in '24, top 10 in '25, and if it doesn't confer by then it's two second rounders.
They both wanted out and there probably weren't a lot of suitors due to contracts. The Wizards traded a guy who hasn't played in two years for a guy who just made an All-NBA team.
