Yeah the console is enormous. I was not expecting it to be so big. Like, it's legit almost twice as big as I thought it would be.

I bought the ultimate launch edition of Miles Morales because I never played the original and that edition comes with the PS5 remaster of it.

I got just the miles morales version since I already bought and beat the original. That said, I accidentally got the ps4 version but it supposedly upgrades so whatever.

I'm gonna be keeping an eye out for sales/price drops on Sackboy. I'm interested, but don't want to pay full price.

I'll probably get Balan Wonderland at launch though. Might check reviews to see if I end up getting it on PS5 or Switch because you never know.

This PS5 kinda worries me. Makes a lot of weird sounds and just had my first crash. Froze during miles morales and started buzzing. Had to reset.

I also had Spider-Man Remaster crash, it was immediately after the Shocker boss battle at the bank. But my system had been on for several hours at that point. Thankfully it was a software crash and not a freeze/lock, but yeah I kinda wonder if this is going to be alright. My history with consoles says no - out of every home console I've bought/received new (pre-PS5), 4/6 have had to be repaired/replaced within 15 months of purchase. My Wii U was even defective out of the box with a bad disc reader, but the first game I played through was digital so I didn't realize it until a week or so after I'd already had and been playing the console.

As I said in the "post each time you beat a game" topic, for a bundled-in tech demo, it was above average (maybe only second to Wii Sports?), and it's the kind of thing I might actually go back and try to 100% someday. But charging any more than like $5 for that would have been awful.

Mine happened when normally swinging around and running up a building. It froze. Started buzzing and wouldn't let me turn it off. After like a minute it turned off finally. Had to repair the storage.

Also my system makes a loud vroom sound when firing up... maybe that's normal idk. And it makes sometimes a clicking sound when turning off (I don't use rest mode). Also reading discs is a bit loud, but maybe that's normal also.

Mine does all of the above.

Yeah it's a little loud when reading discs but my PS4 Pro was a jet engine during graphically intense games so this is a massive improvement. No crashes for me so far and I only use rest mode. Hasn't been turned off since I got it except the restarts from updates.

Also noticed there is sizable input lag when using the controller wirelessly, even occasionally missed inputs.

I noticed this clearly when speedrunning in astro's playroom. I got frustrated, plugged it in via wire, and easily beat the level first try while wired.

Since the New Year there's been all but complete radio silence. There was a minor Antonline drop at one point and Best Buy and Game Stop last Thursday, but otherwise my theory that January would be very slow is holding up so far.

Not nearly the same but occasionally when something is being hella scalped and an eBay listing has an OBO option, I'll make an offer for retail price, or like, insultingly marginally higher than it (like pennies).

I mostly only hear jet sounds when it uses the disc, or to check if the disc is still in.
