I think what they're tryna say is freedom and equality aren't the same. In fact they are enemies and they contradict each other. Freedom, or free choices, for everyone means some will be ahead and some will be behind therefore making it unequal for everyone.

I think what they're not understanding is everyone should at least has the same opportunity. Make it or fail would be up to the person.

He's saying when you have freedom of choice, you have the freedom to make bad choices. And when you make bad choices, your outcome would be worse.

Of course life is a lot more than that, but your choices still matter.

In this case, equality doesn't define equal outcome then. This logic is saying all actions should have the same equal outcome which isn't true and isn't a question towards equality.

The person that wrote that is one of the morons that says:

"Republicans want everyone to have the same starting line, Democrats want everyone to have the same finish line."\

Which is untrue. Democrats are the ones that want the same starting line, Republicans want the current, uneven starting line to stay the same.

Its the age old Chaos vs Law dealy. Chaos is pure unadulterated freedom. You can do whatever the fuck you want, if you are strong enough that is. Otherwise you are getting stomped on. Law is pure order and everyone is basically treated equally, but you have no freedom.

Hey I'm not saying he's right. There's truth in it because choices matter, but a lot of other factors go into it like environment.
