I ordered it online and showed up when it was supposed to be done...but they hadn't even started it

Is government subsidizing the restaurants to save them from going out of business? Like they pay the bill or a part of it for everyone that goes to them.

my wife and I just went out for dinner (eating outside on a patio because its a pandemic) and both rounds of drinks got forgotten and took forever, so they gave us all our beer free and took 30% off our food

As a former manager in a fast casual place, they probably gave it to you for free because they're terrified of bad reviews (internal company reviews or external reviews). It was common practice for us to comp meals if we were noticeably late on them
