easy

just dont talk about it ... I'm sure there are lots of other topics you can take about

Here's the thing

If you voted for Trump, in my eyes, you are trash. I literally cannot respect you anymore. You are at best an idiot and at worst, well...yeah.

The political "divides" of the last four years aren't fiscal policy or even being for or against a war. They're over stuff like "who should have rights, exactly?" And "should babies be in cages?" Or even "is it okay to risk everybodies life for stonks?" I'm sorry, that's not shit I can agree to disagree on.

Fucking chuds think their side is still normal is the goddamn problem here. That coupled with voting for the least qualified man to ever hold public office is just a combo of idiocy and poor decision making I refuse to waste my time with.

The Tories continuously show they dont give a fuck about the poor though and never have. At a certain point you have to be ok with the shit a party does if you support them. They repeatedly have shown what their moral standard is and if you find it repugnant then why would you ignore those who are ok with it

Obviously I think most Tory supporters want the kids fed, but they still support a party who this is standard for.

Thing is I'm not a Tory. I think one thing that sets me aside from most voters is I'm in control of my vote, not controlled by any one party. I take the time to look at a manifesto, it's leaders, it's vision. And I weigh up the pros and cons not just for me, and not just for the instant gratification that is so prevalent these days. I look at the mid and long term future, deciding with my own mind whether someone's party or leader deserves my vote. You may or may not vote Labour, I cannot ever bring myself to do it after the Blair/Brown eras but I would never be judgemental of those who vote them. I know plenty of decent, hard-working Labour councillors, imo they are let down by those at the top who are fawned by the media.

The arrogance here is palpable. Have you considered that people aren't brainwashed by parties....maybe they just have consistent values and evaluate what the political entities they dislike say and do, and they think it's harmful? Maybe they think a party or parties consistently says or does non-decent things?

That's impossible, because you're the only one who has control of their brain and is not enslaved by a party.

It's not arrogance to state the truth that up to now I've not felt a set allegiance to any one party in UK politics. What you say after the first line I totally agree with, there are plenty of legitimate reasons why someone will or won't vote a particular way. I already shared my example of why I won't vote for a particular party myself unless they make big changes at the top. I just checked and also didn't use the term brainwashed nor enslaved either.

No. I said far-left. Moonbats. Unless you are one of them don't take it personally. The EU is not the paradise of high quality living or social constructs that Merkel or Juncker make out. There's plenty of nations still within as an example of economic hardships. I'm a eurosceptic and don't believe it's purpose is fit for helping those at the bottom, in my opinion it's a self-serving enterprise designed to weed out strong democracies, destroy national identities and heritage and basically use them as satellite states.

Ok but this isn't about the EU having economic hardships. This is about working with your friends, in this case allies, despite the problems they might have, in this case some of your friends are poor and always asking you for money.

And if you don't believe it is helping the poorest people how does leaving it help them? Especially since the party now completely in control without any other outside influence is deliberately saying fuck poor people?

Call people moonbats all you want but the left / far left aren't the ones abandoning their allies.

That's the thing about touchy subjects, they're easy to troll, and incredibly easy to cause a deluge of sincerity, despite how obvious you are.

It pretty much spoils the fun with reality.

Speaking as a UK citizen, there's a stain of cruelty that tarnishes the shining armour of the far left. Most are more than prepared to chew up and spit out both friends and family. They lack honour, shame and remorse. It's almost psychopathic in nature, an absolute lack of empathy. It's either with us or against us so no cognitive or sensible reasoning is used once they find out someone isn't one of them. Living behind a facade of purported moral superiority only amplifies both the arrogance and hostility.
The tories recently voted in support of government agents raping, murdering and torturing people in the name of capitalism. How the fuck I'm supposed to even talk calmly to a tory supporter for a few seconds is beyond me with this last decade of shit and erosion of democracy in the UK.

Political ideology is just an extension of a person's values. I don't want anything to do with someone who comes to the conclusion that we should build our society around conservative ideals. Not enough to call them a friend anyway
Exactly

That's why I find it disingenuous when people complain about this or that becoming political

Politics is born out of human nature
