But if Trump's leading in MI on Election Night (unlikely, but not impossible) and the election isn't 100% clinched, then he'll probably try to stop the count, challenge the final results, and just do everything he can to drag things out even longer. If the most recent tweets from Silver are too be beloved, the total opposite may be true. Republican early votes seem to consistently be much later than Democrat early votes, and there's a possibility we may see a total 180 and the Rs will be calling to keep counting longer in close races.

Like, if the election is a huge blowout and the media calls Texas and Ohio for Biden before most people wake up on Wednesday, would anyone who matters argue that Trump was cheated out of a victory? If Biden can hit 270 EC votes by Wednesday night or so, Trump's odds of lawyering his way to a win are almost zero. Yeah unless Biden wins in a big landslide (like winning Montana or South Carolina big) there is a good chance we are going to have no winner by Wednesday morning. Sure us stat people may have a good idea who will win by that point, but there will be no official winner. Trump also has the benefit that the later votes will skew Democratic thus making it harder for Biden to have much of lead to call the mid-west states.
In fact, if the split is huge in Michigan we could have a situation where Trump leads the electoral college on election day (even if Biden wins in Florida and leads in Wisconsin and Minnesota), but ultimately loses it as votes for Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania (and others) flip Biden's way. What worries me about Georgia is the runoff. If I "just" had to believe Warnock and Ossoff had to get the most votes I might have the former Lean D and Ossoff just a tossup.
But the fact that that is not sufficient and they need to hit 50%+1 or else we get a run-off is what makes me a bit of a downer on them, because I'm not sure I think Georgia can replicate the turnout for a run-off and you know Kemp and the Republicans will dial up the suppression and bullshit to even higher levels for it.
