I enjoyed the original but never played 2, how does it compare?

2 is very whatever

There are definitely some improvements (especially the minigames between jobs) but it just feels really soulless and lacking compared to the first game. It also has a pretty awful ending with the last few assassins.

I like 2 more than the original, but I'd say they're both very flawed.

1 feels like the more complete game, but you have to deal with the padding. 2 on the other hand has very little padding, but it really just feels like a series of boss fights and can be a little unsatisfying

I haven't played them since they originally came out, so take this with a grain of salt.

I LOVED the first NHM and I think it was my favorite game the year it came out.

I HATED NHM2. I was hyped up about it and got it just before a winter storm shut down work for a few days. So I was all ready for this game but it was severely disappointing.

I still liked NMH2 but it seemed to take itself too seriously compared to the first game.

I'll wait and see how 3 is then, thanks. I'm guessing Travis Strikes Back wasn't worth it either!

Travis Strikes is a completely different game, I enjoyed it co-op with my brother

story is completely fucked up in a fun nonsense way... and less co-op friendly as it's a lot of text reading but hey it worked for us

I liked both.

NMH 1 is definitely the better game all around, but NMH2 definitely had it's charms and most of the boss fights were pretty nice. I'd say both are worth it to play.

Travis Strikes Again is completely different in style, really. It's more of a top-down hack n slash thing. It was still pretty decent but I definitely find it the weakest of the three. But it still is fun.

Travis Strikes Again is actually a pretty incredible game if you're interested in Suda51 himself, as he really pours out his feelings on games and the process of creating them throughout it. It's almost like a playable autobiography if you're consistent at reading between the lines. If you just want to play a No More Heroes game though, it certainly isn't that.

NM1 is an incredibly flawed but outstanding game. It reaches highs rarely reached in video games.

NM2 is a much more sterile experience, it hammers out the flaws, but the game itself is less fun.

NM2 is worth getting for the minigames alone, great ost

I played the PS3 version of 1 recently to avoid replaying the Wii version. It has a bit more working against it than not running at 60FPS, but the game shines through. Since replaying 2 on Wii was a hard sell even with normal controls, I bought it on Switch right away.

I love new reviews in 2020

No More Heroes is something very rare a game thats actually better now than it was on its original bow, showing us just how little the gaming landscape has actually moved forward. It is certainly, avowedly not for everyone and you get the impression thats just how director Suda51 likes it. Artier than most art games, more thoughtful than most think pieces, and cruder than crude oil, No More Heroes uses its own repetition to decisive, impressive effect. Glorious, gore-ious, gorgeous and gregarious, this madcap anime nightmare deserves your attention. If you missed it on Wii, buy it immediately. If you didnt, you most likely already have

Excellent. The death strikes that required Wii waggle (which I liked) now are done using the right stick. The battery recharge is mapped to one of the shoulder buttons instead of shaking.

I've never seen the appeal to these games, I played part 1 and it was boring

I understand the whole THIS IS THE GAMER'S LIFE Parallel but that never hooked me. The game is just sub par and not very engaging, and I see fans of the series even agree with that, which makes me even more confused when the same fans go apeshit over possibilities of sequels and wanting Travis in Smash

its just not there
