Welcome to blah

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

I'd like to believe that Jack could win this, but honestly. If He-Man got trapped in concrete he would probably just flex really hard and destroy it or something dumb, right?

I don't know, maybe Jack could wear him down before he got found but that feels like a big 'maybe'

I'm just assuming He-Man will be too heroic to resort to "level the entire city" but if that's wrong then this isn't a fight, lol

What if He-Man takes the city... and PUSHES it somewhere else?

But in all seriousness, I see this as a fun match. He-Man's had his fair share of Temple of Doom scenarios - he's the odd combination of incredibly strong, but with not quite the same durability as his output. It's still very high (he tanked a disintegration gun... somehow), He probably has enough tools to get him out of any given scenario (he rubbed his hands together over sand really fast once and it was so fast and hot it turned the sand into glass), but he's entirely able to be worn down before any given confrontation if Jack keeps changing his position.

I'd also ask if Jack has anything that would block out magic. If he both that and the ability to get the Power Sword away from He-Man (which, I mean, the dude drops it a lot for dramatic tension), I think it's possible to sever his connection to Greyskull and revert him to Adam.

Basically, I see this as a game of rather constant cat and mouse. Jack sets up something, He-Man does something ridiculous to get himself out of it, rinse repeat until we nearly run out of city or Jack gets found. If Jack manages to sense anything from He-Man's various encounters and constantly saying "Greyskull give me strength" and finds new ways to mess with him, then we got a winnable stamina battle. If not, He-Man He-Mans.

Castle Greyskull turns on He-Man. Jack wins.

I am fairly certain HE MAAAAN wins. The fucker threw down with Pre Crisis Superman ffs. I don't think a city is going to be a problem even if Jack turned it into a super giant monster

He-Man dropping the sword while dealing with this seems entirely likely, and Jack getting smart and having the ground swallow it up and take it away seems even more likely

from there it's not looking that bad for Jack, still not really sure though. is there a point where He-Man says 'yeah fuck this' and just starts tearing the city up to win

He-Man

I think the big problem in this is that I don't think Jack has the ability to be able to STOP He-Man if he wants to disengage for a breather and to think on what's going on in the city. I don't think Jack's worst could stop He-Man and He-Man would think up a good enough answer on how to stop a city eventually.

Also keep in mind Jack can jump from one city to another one in an emergency, though it takes a specific doohickey he has set up in both of them

I don't think that said doohickey will apply in the situation, due to 10 mile radius battlefield, if he has to teleport to next nearest town area, he will more than likely end OOB, where if he man has to catch a breather, he can just go out the way he came in.

yeah Jack can't leave without forfeiting (for clarity, the ring-out rules are that a character surrenders if they leave on their own, but they only lose when they're tossed out if they can't get back in a reasonable amount of time)

He-Man if Jack doesn't have anything to stop a magic connection. I'm positive that:

-At some point, the Power Sword gets lost, giving He-Man essentially a timer/pain threshold to either find it or Jack
-He-Man doesn't just destroy the city outright when he could turn it into a shelter for homeless children or something
-Nothing Jack has can un-Greyskull He-Man in one shot

At that point, it's "can He-Man get through the DEADLY TRAP CITY before running out of time?" Which I'm pretty sure was an episode of the cartoon, except it was filled with dominatrixes and then he lifted the city to prevent it from collapsing on everyone because evidently it was supported by only one pillar.

He-Man he-mans. I feel Jack is overmatched here. If he was allowed 'the biggest city he's ever been to' as his power setting he could win, but that's like the definition of a temporary powerup.

Is there anything stopping He-Man from just lifting up the city and throwing it out of bounds? He's done it with Castle Greyskull before, but an entire city is much larger than a castle. He'd also need to understand that it's the city itself that's attacking him and not a bunch of unseen enemies tossing skyscrapers at him or something. But if he figures that part out, can't he just lift up the city and punt the whole thing away?
