ever modify it? Or is that even allowed? I use to have a school uniform (or a type of it, I guess), but I just wore it as it was. But after watching lots of anime (and one very recently), I always wondered about that. In the anime (and some tv shows), they sometimes show kids who have to wear uniforms modify them to fit their personality. I figure that it's usually because they are the main characters and what not. But I was wondering if anyone went to a school where that was allowed? Or if you did that yourself, or know/knew someone who did?

Really? Why not? My school had a dress code, though it was mostly things you could wear. It was a public school, though. And even when I wore a uniform at a private school, there weren't many rules about it. There were a few, but it didn't seem super strict. And you could technically modify a uniform while not breaking any rules. Whether or not someone said anything is different, though. It's possible someone here knew someone (or were that person) who modified a uniform while staying in the rules. Or had a school uniform that you were allowed to change a little to give everyone their own personality...

Maybe. Maybe not. Which is why I made this topic to ask more people who have been had a school uniform, or know more about them, if they (or anyone) were able to modify them...

Modifying it defeats the point of having a uniform. It would be against the rules.

Idk. I looked up some stuff. It written a little weird, but it seems you probably can. I mean, as long as it's in the rules, it seems. Though, I was still looking for some people who may have had some first hand experiences with it...

Wasn't allowed at all for us. Black shoes/boots, pants, white shirt and blue jumper with the school logo on. Simple uniform. Wouldn't even let us have black trainers(sneakers) on. Had to be shoes or boots. I've never known any place with a uniform that allows modifications.

I think I have. Though, this was when I was much younger. And there are apparently articles about how to modify school uniforms within the rules. And articles about it. And in the end. It does matter how vague or specific the rules are. And apparent how you interpret it in some cases...

It could be a rule in the schools stuff. Like it might define a hot day as a day with temperatures over something with a humidity or whatever. I think thats how its usually done... Which does suck for students when they are naturally hotter (temperature wise) or colder that others...

Kinda makes me happy we only ever really had a dresscode at the Scouting and even then it was nowhere near as strict. As long as we wore the official blouse, or a club related t-shirt, it was fine.

Last time I got stopped, I was told to pull ahead and wait. I got out and just dumped everything six inches under my vehicle while they were dealing with other vehicles and... well, my buddy said Thats a waste. and stuffed his socks. Thats the worst its ever been. I do notice in the US theres a much-higher police presence and they are typically more after that revenue generation.

I wore a uniform in middle school and high school.

I don't remember the policy on altering the uniforms in middle school. I remember some sort of waivers allowing kids to wear normal clothes, I don't remember how they worked, but I think they still had to adhere to a dress code.

It definitely wasn't allowed in high school. That was a military school and while it became less strict over the years I was there, they would do inspections and give out demerits if you didn't wear your uniform correctly.

Think In terms of the size of a pen, or the size of a pack of cigarettes. Right behind the elbows on the torso of a denim jacket? Great place for them. Inside of the bicept? Nobody expects a pocket there in the armpit.

4 o'clock and 8 o'clock on the waistline? Good to go.6 o'clock, 2 or 3 inches up in the small of the back?
