I just ignore 'em.

I accept my fate. Of the three or four moderations I received, three were regarding spoilers for old content and one was regarding emulations. The emulation one was fair but I do feel at some point when content is old and there is nothing new to "refresh" that (i.e. HBO Game of Throne series and A Song of Ice and Fire book series), it ougtha be open season to some degree.

It's pretty rare these days for me to get modded without knowing that I completely deserved it.

i usually hit accept, it feels futile to get compassion from a third party, when most mods don't look for the why, on the situation, ok?

i can only think of a handful of mods, whom have looked into the context, during my time here, ok?

I accept or dispute depending on if I think I'm right or not...

I used to dispute to get rule clarifications, but they don't reply on first dispute anymore making that pointless

That's complicated. I rarely post anything moddable, and on the rare occasions I do and get hit, I accept it. But I have been wrongly modded countless times in the past and have had many overturns.

I got moderated once, and much as I wanted to dispute it because it involved a certain word and I censored accordingly (been extra careful about censoring ever since I first registered), I decided to leave it alone.

I haven't been moderated in about six years, and three years before that. I used to fight them to the very top, often having to pick apart the mods' so-called logic because they had rather upheld moderations than admit to their mistakes . . . unless public opinion called for overturning a random message. Like that guy with the airplane and chainsaws; he got overturned no problem. *shrugs*

whether you feel that way or not, it's very clearly laid out in the tou what they constitute as a spoiler, so breaking that is completely black or white

spoilers don't expire via time on a website that collates a shitload of old game guides that people new to these games are experiencing for the first time

Agreed, the problem here is what is explicitly written in the code, even if all our opinions on such matters may not sync with said code. It would be like people wanting to praise a BLT sandwich, but the rules state that the only sandwich talk allowed is that of cheap, basic bread with thin slices of low-tier ham and no condiments so any desire to spread the love of BLT or say BLTs should have the right to exist are quashed by the upholders of that hard-to-even-call-outdated rule about the dry ham sandwich. Gt with the bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes, GameFAQs!

How did the old system work and how does the current one work? I rarely get modded because I just meme all the time and when Im not Im either sharing cool stuff I found or commenting on other peoples posts.

A few examples were comparing DPRK to Ba Sing Sae with the line "There is no Covid in Ba Sing Sae" To which anyone with half a brain would understand that Ba Sing Sae was a fictional city from the avatar kids show.

Another was me saying that if a person slaps a bear in the face that they will get mauled. That was said I was victim shaming.

Proudest was talking about Invader Zim and that because I posted about the main characters being the 7 sins. Specifically the robot being sloth/gluttony. Got slamed hard with a censor bypass because someone reported me for censor bypassing due to me typing his name. Got a nice little blurb about how censor bypassing is not allowed and that if the full word for a censor bypass is hate speech further actions will be considered hate speech

That gave me the best reward of all my own mod stocker which honestly is like a crappier version of your fbi agent. The mods seem to be angrier than boomers around a skateboarder with green hair.

My god I hate the ToS bad enough and now theyre modding people for things that arent even in there. If you slap a bear in the face you will get mauled. What does victim shaming even mean?

A guy got into it with a psychopath over xbox. He made took it too far so psycho did a back trace on ip address and offed the 18 yo child (media report) and then committed suicide.

Now any further than this I think the sjw trolls will awaken from their slumber. I just said becareful to whom you scream at online. You dont know whats on the other end.

I've gotten pretty good at learning what will get me moderated and what won't, so when I get moderated it's typically unjustified. I won't accept it, but I only contest stuff I think I can get overturned.

The moderators here are so biased, it's hilarious. I never accept their brand of moderation, because that would be like conceding my intelligence to some mentally ill child with a magnifying glass and an ant-farm...which is pretty much the case for all incidences across the internet, not just gFAQs.

Before, you could dispute and get a more in-depth reason for being modded, then you could ask for another mods opinion, then you could move higher up the chain until the admin.

Now, the same mod just agreed with him/herself without a message and no way to dispute it higher.

So its like telling a judge that he would be biased in an american court case and should recuse himself but he is given the discretion as whether or not he can be impartial. Well hell if it worked for america to create the worlds best corruption free legal system why the hell not apply it to a system with complete anonymity for those with power

Its like instagram and facebook followers in that sometimes its the only fleeting moment of there miserable lives that they feel they have value and fell their peers acknowledge them. Kinda like the person who resort to being a grammar nazi to feel like they won an arguement.

I won't say you're wrong, because there's a colonel of truth to those words I've no interest in addressing in full right now, but I do have to ask how many errors you've made just now were intentional. It's not a big deal, obviously, but I'm curious. If you don't give a damn about the errors in your post, then I'd be fine with just moving on.

I dispute them and lose every single time.

I had one that was overturned before I even had a chance to dispute it because it was deleted on accident.

If you accept them, even when you know youre right, you admit guilt. This is also why you should never apologise for anything, ever. Youre admitting guilt of something.

I've disputed two, won one dispute. I've accepted two or three. Been a long time since I've been modded though. If I know I fucked up then I'll just accept it but I've definitely had a couple moderations that were just bullshit and even though there was no karma loss, I couldn't let it stand.

It's worth it, imo. I mean, either that, or be a boot-licker for weaker intelligence than your own.

I just write a small 1 or 2 sentence blurb to remind them how pathetic they are for their obvious petty biases. And that being king of the ban-hammer means nothing in the real world. Just a little sting to remind them of their poor life choices that landed them in their occupation within this website's "Ministry of Truth".

Then just carry on.

I mean, if gFAQs was so concerned about conservative or moderate opinions on any particular subject, they should explain that in their rules better. Instead of maintaining a false disguise that anyone can speak about anything, supporting an internet of free expression; but secretly moderate based on a few people's "feelings".

For me, it's gotten to the point that when I get moderated, they don't give me the option to dispute because they know themselves they're trapped in a logic-box. They'll go 1-60mph, on some petty comment, just to restrict my ability to dispute. This is how child-like the mods here are, and to accept their moderation, you're basically conceding your own intelligence for someone lesser.

I don't get modded enough to have a thing I do usually.

More accurately, they redid the dispute system for everyone. The claim was one of streamlining the disputes, for they receive so many messages to moderate or disputes to handle--and yet I see some moderation-worthy posts continue to slide--but I had commented to Sailor Bacon even back then that "streamlining," is often used to mean cutting corners, and that the new system might not help anyone in the name of fairness. My comment was ignored, and here we are. After years of people arguing, and screenshotting, their disputes to show moderators sticking to their guns on actions that shouldn't have been taken, to say nothing of the lion's share of fair moderations that DID occur, we have a system now where such arguments are no longer possible.

For the sake of your own argument, I'd think you meant to use "childish" rather than "child-like," since there is a difference. Do I necessarily agree with the argument, depending on either word's meaning? No to one, and not quite for the other.
